Well it all depends on how you pronouce the "Woo". If you were to pronounce it like you would the word "woo" itself then no, nobody in England talks like that
. (I've never actually been to Boston. I've colleagues from there, but have never visited myself).
My people in Augusta GA say I talk funny. I'm a soft woo ascending on the s, then hard ter. Wusster.
Sad.. But certainly true, I certainly remember those days. Then about late elementary school, they started the everybody trophies. I was so confused, Lol

Nothing new, sadly. The last time we had a big reorganisation of the research council responsible for particle and astro physics here Sky News covered it using stock footage of a woman in a white coat working in a biology lab. Because all science is the same after all...This is more "funny-strange" than "funny-haha" and what struck me as funny is that Reuters grabbed a stock image of wiring to promote their story rather than the UTP wiring used in most places on the "net" (although backbones are fiber nowadays).
If you don't really understand it, don't let it keep you from writing about it, eh?

For that matter last week a respected newspaper here reported on some particularly stupid things our prime minister said about fusion power but made themselves look even dimmer by adding the word "cold" before "fusion" in the headline (probably because the sub editor had heard of "cold fusion" and just thought the words went together.
So yes, just grabbing a stock image of wiring is no surprise. Be thankful it wasn't the domestic ring mains they came up with...

OT - Saw Joker last night. Not being a fan of any superhero franchise. It wasn't like that, though I see the way it slots in to the storyline.
Truly excellent movie and performance all around. Dark but superb (70's-ish slum New York / Gotham brilliantly done too - not a fresh coat of paint anywhere).
