I think it’s more of a problem on this side of the pond. On one end are those who clearly articulate each vowel and syllable (though perhaps not clear on whether the vowels are long or short)...and on the other are those who simple pronounce it “Woostursure.”
"Woostursure" isn't a bad attempt actually. "Woostersher" would be closer to how people around there would say it, but that wouldn't raise many eyebrows. Enunciating each vowel and syllable would sound odd to a Brit, but not as bad as it does with nearby Gloucester (pronounced "Gloster").

For a pop-culture satire of the complexity of some British spellings relative to their pronounciation I enjoyed the fact that Hellboy's mentor, Professor Bruttenholm, is pronounced "Broom" ;).

(Of course many Brits would actually call it "Worcester sauce", even though "Worcestershire sauce" is correct).
