Spoke to Chad Goodman...

Back working on kernels for the 3d

Through several pm's on his new forum he told me that as soon as he is done with the 3d kernel he is going to pump out some kernels for us.

Thanks to the source that was released a few days ago..it will have working 3d and wimax

Just thought I would share that info with everyone else frustrated about our whole kernel situation..

I'll post back a link for his new forum..

So....we can use those kernels even though they're european and turkish?

Also, can he modify them so we can flash AOSP roms?

not sure about the aosp deal.. but with sense 3.6 roms you should be able to have it fully working with oc and all the benifits of a custom kernel..

from what i gathered he had taken his old rls1 kernel that works for us..but had some broken items..and the euro source and fixed a few things..he said hes gonna be putting out kernels for a couple phones..

not to sure..i know it fixes quite a few things wrong with his original kernel from a while back..but it won't boot yet..not sure if its a virgin mobile thing or what..alot of other sprint users are having trouble too..but Chad is steady putting in some serious work..so in theory the one posted at his forum right now..rls2.2..should work on both sprint and virgin..but i haven't seen many virgin testers besides me..and alot of sprint users are having trouble too..which makes me feel a little better about this virgin phone never successfully booting shit
 
Flashed it. This is oc'd to 1.7gHz

Edit: only one core is active with the screen on. Gonna flash the dual core mod fix.

Okay with the dual core mod fix and using lagfree governor. Wonder why there's no smartass v2?

which rom were you using? what kind of wipe did you do? and in what order..s-off?
 
I've been flashing using Flash Image GUI, do you think that would work with this too even though I'm S-ON? It worked with the original AnthraX kernel posted in this forum. Which specific kernel are you using? I see a Release 2 on the website link. Now this is awesome news!

i highly reccomend 4ext bro..alot of users have had trouble getting it to boot on twrp2 and 4ext.so cwm might be a lil iffy.somehow i did just successfully get it to boot on a stock 3.6 rom..i think it is highly important that you download it to the pc and transfer it to your phone..dont wipe anything if your s-off..

so far confirmed fixed with new kernel 2.1

netflix and video playback

usb mount while in android..dont have to mount in recovery anymore

camcorder..front facing camera works great..

camcorder on front facing camera works great also no more fc

new oc to 1.7 ghz from the old 1.5ghz
 
seems like chad has been working 24/7 on the new kernels sense his sight went up a few days ago..lots of changes so far..each release is getting better and better..
 
Im going to try and see if evervolv will boot with this kernel.

@johnny have you tried flashing an aosp rom with this kernel?

lol not yet..I'm just glad i got it to boot period..time to put a little stress on this bitch! :cool:

edit..by the way it stands a good chance of booting with aosp..if it does i will pee my pants
 
Awesome sauce. I was on 1782MHz with performance governor and with deadline i/o scheduler. Using the 2.1 kernel.

Flashed with 4Ext, S-ON.

yup..that's one things i have always done when flashing kernels..but it won't fly this time for some reason...atleast for me it btlp'd....i know that the install wipes for you..but its good practice to wipe when flashing anything..at least i usually do.
