Engineering roms are a treasure trove of secret information, and one was used to root the original Evo - precisely why they wanted that phone back.
Anyway, I'm pulling for you!

Is anyone making any noise over @ xda? I requested the photon forums but no such luck yet.
I did too. I'm not sure I would get the photon without a root.
Unless...Can you tether (for free) without a root on it?
i have the same laundry list of options on my MoPho...When I turn the phone on while holding power and up I get a prompt that says "Starting RSD protocol support" but nothing happens. BUT if I boot it up while pressing down and power I can scroll through many prompts, they say : Fastboot, NvFlash, BP HW Bypass RSD, BP HW Bypass QC DLOAD, BP HW Diag & Boot AP, BP HW Bypass BP Only, BP SW Bypass RSD, Android Recovery, Boot Android (No BP), Device UID, console=ttyS0,115200n8, Early USB Enumeration, BP Tools, RSD. That's a hell of a lot of options for a locked device so I think its free as a bird.

Odd, I mis-read shawheims post and did Power + Volume Down and I got a "Fastboot" message on the screen, but it hasn't moved from that spot.i have the same laundry list of options on my MoPho...
interesting read...might inspire me to sideload sbf to try and unlock the bootloaderOdd, I mis-read shawheims post and did Power + Volume Down and I got a "Fastboot" message on the screen, but it hasn't moved from that spot.
So I then push the volume up button I get
"Starting Fastboot protocol support" message
but no matter what I do, it stays at that so i have to take out the battery.
But if do what he wrote exactly, I get those options as well.
Ironically that also happens with the Atrix.
ugh cant find working adb drivers...
yup that was me...if i can get this bootloader unlocked you'll love my clean photon roms too!Hey, I remember you from the touch pro days over at ppcgeeks, I use to love your clean 6.1 roms.

I've posted in all of them for a while now and finally a staff member has seen one of the threads, but I am not letting up. Its beyond being ironic, its downright stupid how they choose forums for phones. Phones that are not even out yet. Give me a break. I'll probably get banned from there at the rate this is going. There are currently 6 threads requesting Photon sub-forum...not to mention my own attempt at humor. Think president's speech from Independence Day.
Yeah...I went there.
**** em if they cant take a joke...I've posted in all of them for a while now and finally a staff member has seen one of the threads, but I am not letting up. TS
Speaking of xda, its odd that this phone is being praised left and right and yet xda hasn't made a forum for it.

Uh, didn't Motorola announce that the bootloader would be unlocked? The same problem as the Atrix, though - because of Webtop they encrypted the partition which can bork up some pretty low-level stuff.
