Hey there. I'm buying my first smartphone soon and the one that seems to best fit my budget is the X8 (I'm from Argentina, so phones are kinda expensive here). I'm actually between the X8 and the Samsung Galaxy 5 (AKA i5500 AKA 550). The only reason why I considered the Galaxy 5 is because it is upgradeable to Android 2.2 (without having to root it), but overall I like the X8 better (specially for the big screen).
So, I am concerned about internal memory. Since rooting the phone voids the warranty in my country, will I have any problems if I want to install apps (I don't care about games). I mean, will the internal memory suffice? I have read about move2sd and link2sd but, from what I understood, you have to root the phone to be able to use them. Or is there any way to install apps in the SD card without having to root it while having Android 2.1?

(it avoids a lot of reboots!)
