fyi another nationwide data outage

Monterey, CA.

Woke up this morning and had no 4G and though "must be juice defender killing my data"...and saw that I just only started to received 3G when I finally got to work.

Awwww...LTE just went down. I'm in So Cal about 20 minutes from LA. :(

Switched to 3g only and I get data. Dang 3g is slow...lol. :p

No 4g in Jacksonville this afternoon. I thought i was losing my mind. Seems to be back up and running again though. Last week Boston, now this week on vacation in Florida and no coverage!

I understand that it is issue affecting sim card phones which was true for me today. My Bionic today no service (and not a 4g area here) but flip phone 3g unaffected. Could posters elaborate if their service is sim card or not?

I had issues yesterday as well. I'm in the Philadelphia area. I couldn't even get 3g data at times.

Seems ok this morning.

Chicago, IL - 3G most of the evening last night and no anything as of right now. Errrrrrrrrrrr... not a good way for a new smart phone owner and data plan holder to be introduced to the market.

My 4g showed working (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) again this morning but some Internet and Maps/Nav didn't work right UNTIL I rebooted just now.

"Entner said it's a good sign that the outages have all begun in the middle of the night when network traffic volumes are at their lowest. He said this means the outages are likely being caused by upgrades and patches to the network. Unlike some wireless operators, Verizon schedules most of its upgrades at night to mitigate disruption to consumers, he said. But with a new network, issues are bound to come up and one glitch can cascade affecting not just one region of the country but multiple regions."
