i bought gbox soon as i hooked it up with a/v cable screen is black and white and will not stop rolling help
Hello all there sorry for my english i removed some apps from the firmware and now i have more ram mamory and more speed it's much more stable 
deleted apps: gmail, facebook, ,himsn, netflix, games, twiter. talk. gboxlauncher and more.... installed adw launcher ex
to update use RKBatchTool and usb male/male
Download : g-box 11-3-2012.img download

Hi, is any chance to update this android system to this firmware without RKBatchTool and usb? or some how update to standard look menu Android 2.3 because factory menu i don't really like, to simple and customize is limited.
I try copy this firmware to internal memory (where exactly is factory firmware called update.img) i just change name of g-box 11-3-2012.img to update.img and orginall file i moved to other place and i try install update but not working.
after restart...

Find and check firmware...

one think orginal file update.img working good after restart.

I bought a GTV584. first switch worked perfectly.
I turn off remote control properly. Since then, I can not turn on.
Remote control does not respond. Manually turn on, the blue LED is lit but no picture, no nothing.
If a PC, you'll, you see normally. RKbatchTool program works, I can exchange firmware. but will not start ... please help

I'm owner of this box too (The white one with the grey top and 2 USB ports). I tried a few firmwares but none of them was satisfying for me, so I tried to cook my own, based on the mod of maya. Here are some facts of it:
1. Removed a lot non useful apps that were protected, so you couldn't unistall them.
If you want, you can reinstall them again.
2. Updated Superuser (Superuser v3.0.7 (41) , Su binary v2.3.1-ef)
3. Updated hosts file (= blocking a lot of ads!!)
4. boot animation deleted (useless cpu time)
5. Preinstalled useful apps:
adbWireless
flashplayer
GOLauncherEX
LCD Resolution (change lcd density)
MortPlayerMusic (best player i found for playing from usb hdd etc. tested a lot..)
MXVideoPlayer + armv7 codec (works perfektly!)
+ standard apps like maps, music, gallery, video, camera, browser, market, youtube
maybe i will remove video and music when i update my firmware again.
If you have suggestions or ideas, feel free to ask me for.
How do I upload files to the board?? (Ok found it, too big!)Hope uploaded is ok (mods??)

Is this a good update for the G-box?
It's much better then the stock rom. If you have the described box give it a try and let me know.
Edit: Works with SD Card - no cable needed
WPA2 PSK with AES encryption does it work with this update?
Didn't it work with the stock rom? I had it first running wireless (wpa2, aes psk) but had problems. Sometimes it disconnected for no reason and connected only after reboot. I'm not sure if I'm the only one with this problem.
Since that time I used it wired and never tried it again.
I'm trying it wireless for you now.
I have static ip settings so i can connect more easy to webkey and control it from my phone.
After 5 min of working wireless it stopped as usual...

I flashed your update and everything is working fine, but now my i-Pazz port keyboard is not working as querty cause typing the "y" key it's "z" on screen, the same when typing other characters like "@" etc, I tied to install other keyboards from Google Play but nothing changed, any solution or setting is availalble to solve the issue?

Thx, confirmed! I don't know what went wrong when I created that version. I'll take a look and hopefully rebuild it this evening. [4pm here now]

Ok,I did a quick copy & paste rebuild. Update should now be recognized correctly. Hopefully I replaced all files.

I'm in flashmode now!! My reset switch near the power plug seems to be defect so every try was useless. After bridging it flashmode works.

) who now tries to convert our filesystem to ext3 and after that to ext4 (=full root and more speed)

BIG NEWS!!
Read & Write Root access ist working. Filesystem is now ext3.
It will be converted to ext4 soon. When everything works as expected there could be a full release the next two or three days.
It was build based on stock rom, so by now there is some junk in the rom again. With read & write access this is no problem because you can remove all apps you don't want with titanium backup for example!
I'll post again soon
