i also tested the keyboard on my pc - win7 ultimate - and it works fine actually, thats why i wanted to check what might be the source of the problem, when connecting the device to my android box - USB signal problems? firmware failure?

2.3.1 is installed.
i will try firmware update, but as far as i found out, i have the latest version as indicetd in other postings here in this forum. :-/

as long as the keyboard works, it is perfect! thats why i want to find a good solution to make it work properly all the time :-)

anyone else who uses this device or might know what is going on?

Firmware is good, but on my CRT 4:3 tv set screen output is little distorted because initially box sets 16:9 aspect ratio. On previous firmware TV output used native TV resolution 768x576 pixels. Is there any way to change this?

you can change the resolution in the box settings - display mine is 1280x720p-60

I have installed this image, and it's really good!. It's much faster than before. The interface is much better than original. Now, I'm happy with the item. Thank you very much, sir.
 
Hi everyone,

So I finally received my male to male usb cable connected the box to my laptop and nothing happens. Help????

BTW I know my box is bricked because I connect it to my tv and there is no signal there.

Please help!!!!!

Using Rkbatchtool, you push the recovery button near the power cable, and then you connect the power cable to the unit. Then windows will recognize the unit, and you will be able to load a image file. I suggest you to use the image created for Xzer0.

Hi Bangalter,

I tried that but nothing happened. I turned off, pushed the little whole on the back of the box, turned it back on connected to the laptop and nothing. My laptop seems to not detect the box what so ever. Any specific order that I need to do this?

You shouldn't do this pushing the power button. Instead, you should unplug and plug the power cord. Please, try this way.

thanks so much!!!! my laptop finally recognised the box but now there is no way it will install a driver for it. I am running windows 7 :S

Hi - I just installed my g-box. Using the remote control that came with it, how does one access the virtual keyboard? I can't input the wi-fi password without it. Many thanks.
 
I got my box to work again. Thank you for your help Bangalter!

I have installed the firmware published by Xzer0 and found some glitches as follow:

1 - When I installed and uninstalled some apps the size of the icons on the screen go from good size to really really small.
2 - The browser crashes after 1, 2, or 3 big bang theory episodes from Watch Series Online for free, Full episodes - Watch Series. ( I know there is nothing to do with the Big Bang Theory but I am just listing what was happening at the time ;) )
3 - Google search does not work.

Extras:
My camera still does not work, any idea on this?

on my g-box works all good try update again the g-box und before you update delete all old maps from android apps und system

I haven't done what you said yet xzero, I've been trying to get the camera to work without updating the firmware again. Now I am getting "Cannot connect to camera". Any insight in this?

Hi,
does it have 5.1 sound ? I mean it has an optical SPDIF out, right? So is there any video player software for Android what can play 5.1 sound through it to my amplifier? (it has no HDMI input)

No I can't. There is an option like TV or HDMI, after setting TV there is only option PAL or Secam.

Screen scale setting also doesn't change anything.

The TV mode somehow is interpreted as high-resolution 16:9 so you can just imagine what unreadable mess is on simple CRT PAL 768x576 (4:3) TV set.

How to change resoultion in Android? Maybe there is resolution in some system files that can be changed with Root Explorer?
 
Hi Guys,

Some help here would be very much appreciated.

I finally got my G-box fully operational. But I have a problem. I want to run to browse via proxy with a strict {gb} exit node. I installed Orobt & Orweb V2 and set the proxytype to HTTP; Proxy Host to 127.0.0.1 and the Proxy port to 8118. Strict nodes are enabled. Exit Node is set to {gb}. Orbot however says there is a exit node verification problem. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Perhaps it is because the G-Box is not rooted? Any suggestions fellas (or gals)? :)
