G-BOX Rockchip 2918 Gingerbread - Really plays and outputs FullHD

Hi,

How can I set up the optical audio out in the box? I connected it with my home theatry amp by optical cable, but didn't work (only in simple stereo). The cable is OK, the amp is OK. Any idea?

I tried with different, starting from 240. Market not works with any values.
I suppose market indicate system screen resolution and density values anв thinks that installed app is not compatible with current screen parameters.
 
I tried to flash this image file ( URL="http://www.dayflycn.com/Upload/G-BOX-201111%20NEW%20Firmware(GTV564-GTV584).rar"]2011-11-30 G-BOX-201111 NEW Firmware(GTV564-GTV584).rar[/URL] ) from an earlier post, but as son as it reviewed it wouldn't go anywhere. Ever since I try to open the g-box, the light gets blue for 5 sec, get back to red (off). What happened? Can I fix this?

ok, take 1gb sd card /formated on fat, not fat32/ put image on the root of sd card.turn off g-box, put sd card in, on back side near the power is small reset, put something in /pencil,or.../and hold,turn g-box on, after 3-rd blink let reset-pencil. Folow the screen and update.

Windows wouldn't find the drivers and wouldn't give me the option to search for it. So I forced it and it worked and I got my g-box to work again. Was tough to set it to ntsc when it was on pal, but got it. and its rooted.

I see I have root access. Good to get higher DPI but no r/w access. So I can't get rid of stuff I doing want on it (like gmail, twitter, and more).

If someone knows how to pit S-Off on it, it would be great.
 
Hi there Goldo72,

I think I have mentioned on a previous post that the system is CRAMFS, this is the way it is compiled which is by design read only to minimise the use of space, to have r/w access it would have to me compiled differently and it would require more space which the box does not have.

In other words, to be able to remove apps from the system you need to recompile the firmware. By reading the previous posts you will find more information on this.

Yes. You can use, e.g., esexplorer to automatically search for your NAS. Once it is listed, then you can browse for movie files on your NAS and play them with any movie player apps.

Its defaut camera.apk, and with trick, put usb camera in, take the power off and then back, power on on front side and start camera apll. If apll. cant run do the same with power off/on. Btw its Canyon cheap camera:). I think almoust every cam can be played.
I try with skype and I have options for camera but I think its a bug in soft, cant open incom/outgoing picture.

I turn on the g-box, then i insert the sd card (that only contain the image file) and anything happen, what is the problem? what can i do?

Please help me, because i need to root the tv box for install a plugin... THANKS

On root sd card must be update.img /rename whatever is call/ box on, card in. box manual short off,then on---box read sd card and party goes on:)

I follow your instructions, but i have a hugh problem

The box was installing the new firmware, when it restarts i have no signal on the TV.

Then the blue led turn red. I tried to turn on again the led turn blue and a few seconds later turn red.

I cant start the tv box.

What can i do to solve the problem?
 
dont panic, its not fw for your box. Can you tell me what box do you have and I will find fw for you, btw you need now usb male/male:)

canyon cnr-wcam413g, but I think every cam with microph. in will work with new 3g firmware.
btw. live wallpapers, lcd density,streaming,Skype/hacked/... fast everythings work in a new rooted fw:)
