Help G-Talk problems

I use G-Talk quite heavily despite being massively unreliable - messages dont always come through, sometimes there is no notification for new messages.

However as of this morning I cant even log in - it says "could not connect to server. Will retry shortly". My internet connection on the phone is fine as I can browse other internet pages and I have called T-Mobile who have confirmed my account is fine.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I had this problem on Droid once, a reset in Settings -> Privacy fixed it.

(Which turned out to be a pretty painless thing to do..)

Cant find the privacy setting on the G1...sorry Im a bit of a noob.

Got firmware version 1.6 and build number DRC92 if this helps.

Update: I have just tried logging into google talk via a wireless network and it works.

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm having this exact same issue, works on wifi for me too.

I'm on t mobile G1, android 1.6 (cyanogen 4.2.14.1) in the UK

A mate of mine who also has a T-Mobile android phone also cant log in. However I know other people who have android phones on other networks who can log in.

My friend on t mobile with an 'LG InTouch Max GW620' (also android) has the same problem; no gtalk on mobile network, but it works on wifi.

Looks like t mobile is blocking it?

Not only can I not log into google talk, but i cant download new apps from the market and my google mail doesnt sync either. T Mobile are a joke.

It was a problem with the T-mobile network. Unfortunately mine still isnt working
