Yup, that's right... my dear friend tells me that the iPhone SDK has API functions how to use multitouch on iPhone. It's a little bit silly that the AndroidOS supports multitouch but it's locked somehow, and there are no explanations how to use it in the Android SDK. So, I don't believe it, until I see it on a real device

I think Google may have various reasons for not having everything the phone
is capable of ...not implemented to start with ... Possibly didn't want to
be tagged just a "copycat of iphone's methods" ... I think that multitouch
on a capacitive type screen is inherently possible... futher by some simple
indications it is indicated that it is there ... but just not fully
implemented...

One example of possible but not implemented in like the Browser... is the
landscape and portrait flip without opening keyboard ... but Checkout the
implementation of it in a Great App called "Power Manager" or the ability
to change the phone's ring response based on phone's physical orientation..
app called "Ring Control"

To illustrate multitouch ... go to your apps container and scroll some
where around the middle of your listed apps... place two fingers or thumbs
"at the same time" onto the screen ... without lifting fingers from the
screen ---now scroll back and forth by moving both in the same direction...
notice that the screen scrolls in the desired direction...

Again, Without lifting either finger move them in opposite directions...
notice that they cancel each other out ...

Now, leaving one finger on the screen (between apps -- so nothing is
selected) ... try to flick-scroll the screen in either direction .. the
screen attemps to move but it bounces back to the locked position being
held by the finger on the screen ...

Will google implement this hidden capability .. we can hope .. just like we
hope it finds a method to secure the root while still allowing apps to be
stored/loaded/and run from the SDCard-Drive... and adding flash to the
browser ...etc...
I am going to remain optimistic but still anxious and impatiently waiting !
