G1's Five most Obnoxious Flaws

It does state that they MIGHT throttle you, not that they WILL. So ill wait for that to happen. Until then, im gonna enjoy the 3g speeds.
 
I am on 3G already...with no caps. Even if they MIGHT...They shouldnt have the option. Up to you. Even my GF would exceed this cap.

What are you using atm? Cause i have a Tmobile Dash, although EDGE was nice...2 years ago, im ready for 3G.
 
The data cap is total BS! The non-desktop sync and single google account piss me off too. I sure hope google does not take the way of locking things into them like apple did. That will make be avoid android forever. No video?? WTF. Those things sure make me want to wait for a better option.

Locked things are easily unlocked these days ;)
 
Yeah, locked things rarely stay locked... but locking it in the first place seems to go againt the whole "Open" part of Android.

I'm reserving my judgement until the extend of this locking to an account is unveiled. Does it just apply to GMail, GTalk and contacts? Or does it go beyond that? I've been amped for Andoid since what feels likeforever, but if they screwed this up it could be a deal breaker for me.
 
It seems the issues people have are all very minor and will be easily resolved which makes them temporary at best.

Which is what makes the phone so great. If there is a problem, developers will make an app to fix it. Yay.
 
Worst case: Buy the phone outright for $399, have T-Mobile unlock it for you 90 days later, walk across the street to AT&T.

the single google account doesnt bother me cause im the only one using the phone. as for the video, u need to do a little bit more research cause video can be done, there just isnt an app included on the phone. u can dl it frm the android marketplace. as for the data cap, ill worry about it when and if it happens to me.
 
I have a personal and a business account with google so it really screws me. I relay all my business email thru gmail so i can use it sort of like an exchange server because i'm on so many different computers.
 
The editor does not have his facts straight.

Example:
No multitouch on the G1 and there never will be, since the panel itself doesn't support it.

The G1 LCD panel is a capacitive touchscreen just like a iphone, so the only reason why it does not support it, probably has something to do with Android OS not supporting it yet.
