G2 Pictures issue after gingerbread update

Hello,
my picture gallery its malfunctioning. I can take pictures, but they are saved only temporarily. This happened after I got the gingerbread update and just noticed it right now. I don't know if it has to do with the phone or what, I never had an issue like this. Also my sd got corrupted after the upgrade, but I reformatted and its working fine now (I thought this may have something to do with this issue). Has anyone had any issue like this? If you can help it will be greatly appreciated.

I am having the same issue.. I thought that it was just me.. I've gone through 2 phones a battery and a new SD card.. and I've done a few hard resets.. and I've been told not to add apps.. and I'm still haveing the issue!

Happens to me too. If you plug your phone into your computer, the pictures are still there you just have to use your computer to see them, which is pretty stupid.

Mine started on 9/15. I installed Gingerbread in August I think. So everything was fine till the 15th. Now it just goes wherever. It does get auto synced with G+ and I can see everything if I go into Astro File manager. I got plenty of space on my SD card. Almost 10gigs. I can see the pictures for about 5 mins after I take them. Its annoying, if I want to show someone a pic or vid I gotta go into astro.

Same problem here. Today I opened my gallery and it decided to show pictures I haven't been able to see in a week. Also I noticed today when I had my phone plugged into the car charger it opened the car mode. When I just restarted my phone it opened it. And in the middle of typing the last sentnce I did I plugged my phone into the wall charger. Car mode back on.

Mine just started working again. I see majority of my pictures now. Not all but a good portion in my gallery. But I can see them all in ASTRO. I figure as long as I can see the file somewhere I should be good.

I connected my phone to the computer and saw all my pictures. After I did this the pictures showed up in the phone gallery. I'm still not sure what the issue was and how it was solved haha... weird

I have the same problem since the update. All I do is restart my phone and then the pictures will show up again. Another problem I have is when I delete pictures from my gallery. They will show up still when I open the gallery again. I don't know why and I wish I could fix it

There are workarounds but no total fix for the disappearing Gallery pictures. There are two threads on the issue: (Damn I can't post real clickable links yet)

support.t-mobile.com/thread/4908?tstart=0

code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=13419

(add your own gripes in those threads and maybe they'll fix it faster.)

Short answer: D/L and use app SDrescan to temporarily reappear your pics.

P.S. Since I'm a new user and this is my first post, gimme props with a "Thanks" if this helped ya. ;)

Sorry to hear I'm not alone in this issue, but relieved to know that I am not losing my mind. I take pics, they disappear, they reappear (but never when I want to show someone). It always shows pics taken from 8/26 and before. The ones after that, it is a crap shoot if they will appear or not.

At the same time this started I kept getting notification of uploads to Photobucket that were pictures I had taken since 8/26 and sometimes I get the notification 10 times for the same picture/set of pictures. Yet it doesn't automatically upload my recent pictures taken just this past weekend. I'll try the workaround but this is so damned annoying.
