G3 battery first charge

Hi , for those that are getting good battery usage on their g3 what did you do on your first charge when you got the phone , drain the battery then charge up or just put it on charge straight out of the box without draining it ??? Cheers , Dave

Put it on charge straight out of the box my understanding is (according to The Phones Show) should should not let these batteries run flat

After playing with mine on the way home from the phone store, I stuck it on the charger, but it was pretty much fully charged out of the box. It was 100% when I looked at it 1/2 hour later. I have been very pleased with the battery life.

In the user manual they say you need to fully charge it, before using.

Most of the battery conditioning info available is either outdated or BS. Change when possible and avoid bottoming out the battery if at all possible. Other than that? Enjoy the phone.

Yeah when I get a g3 I'm gonna just charge it a few hours straight from the box before I use it , cheers

We're using LiPo technology these days, as long as you don't over-drain the battery (which the phone should shut off before you get there), it doesn't matter what you do.

IDK what type of battery you have in yours, but I have the one shown in the pic, meaning Li-Ion.

Over-drained the battery 5 times until now (phone shuts down by itself - restarted until it cannot power-on any more) and no issues at all.

On Topic:

I for one drained the battery the first time I got it and left it to charge turned off until the green light was on - did it 3 times like that afterwards.
