Hi,
i'm new to Android OS and i just bought the new LG G3.
i would like to ask how to close apps that are open in the backround?
i was told its a long press on the home button, but that sends me to google search.
couldn't find the answer on any forum for this.
will appriatiate the help :-)

Hi. Welcome to android!

You can clear them out the multi tasking menu, if you tap the two stacked boxes button next to the home button you'll see all you recent apps. You can swipe one away if its just the one you want to get rid of. Or cam press clear all button to remove them all.

but after i swipe the program on that page, i can still see the service is running.
for example, i have Cisco Jabber (cisco softphone), and even after i swipe it i can still see it's working in the backruound. it's icon i still showing on the upper left corner.

Android does a very good job of managing background apps, so there isn't really much need to worry about them.

Yeah apps like that will usually have a run at startup permission or something so force closing will use more battery than keeping open as the app will keep opening itself. Its the age old argument of task managers. If the phone decides it needs memory for something else it'll sort itself out.
