Root Galaxhero not working, os phone not starting!!!

Hi All,

I have alsmost the same problem....I have rooted my phone and have now the recovery mode from HD blog....it's was working fine.

So I tried to get the galaxhero rom installed
I did the following steps:

1)...Reboot in recovery mode (Volume down + both Call buttons) and choose "Nandroid backup" to save a backup of your current ROM just in case.

2)...backup G apps

3)...Then, choose "Wipe data/factory reset". The phone will reboot in recovery mode again.

4)...Choose "Apply sdcard:update.zip" (second menu entry on the recovery screen)

5)...Restore Google applications ("Restore G.Apps")

6)..."Enable root (su)".

but then enable root failed!!

anyway I went on further with reboot system

it rebooted till the "android HD logo" showed up and then suddenly the screen went off and it seemed like my phone went off....so I went back to the recovery mode and did the following steps:

wipe data
restore backup

restore G apps

enable root su....but again enable su failed!!

Again I choose reboot system, and when the reboot came again to the "android HD logo" ...it stuck there and stayed looping

First...why do I still see the android HD logo again...because I did a wipe!!!!

Second...How can I get my phone working again!!!

Please any help will much appreciated

Thanks
Yassin

enabling root fails because its already hard rooted via the rom.
there is no steps in the guid to flash hero that says enable root su

how long have you left it booting?

you might want to flash ii5 with odin back onto the device and start again

This could be the backing up of gapps problem associated with recovery 4.1. 4.2 was released to address that issue.

The hdblog screen is probably the boot up image. The custom rom applies a custom boot up image so you'll not see the default samsung galaxy image.

Are you seeing the android animated logo? Does it play smoothly or is running in a loop of being animated then a freeze occurs and animation carries on before another freeze?

Something similar happened to me.

Got past the custom boot screen to the Android logo doing the reflective cycling thingy, and it just sat there for 45 minutes.

First boot will take more time as it installs the software, but this was just too long.

So I reflashed with base II5, and went through the process again. Worked fine the second time.

Hi Guys,

Thanks All for your reply and help

I have managed to flash my phone with II5 through Odin.

My phone is working again

Thanks
Yassin

Hi, how did you manage to flash through Odin? I just keep trying but android recovery seems to block Odin somehow...

How could I get rid of android recovery?

Thanks!
