Help Galaxy Gio problem with SMS

Hey guys! I'm quite new to this wonderful Android world.
The Galaxy Gio is my first smartphone It's a really good phone.. but I'm having a really anoying problem with "conversations".

I've been using the default SMS service and when I go to "conversations", I need to tap in a small white bar that says " tap to compose" in order to reply to someone.
The problem is, most of the times I have to keep tapping it because it won't respond! It's really frustrating!

The default Android version was 2.3.3. Today I upgraded to 2.3.4 but the problem continues...
Please help :s

EDIT: I solved it by using GO SMS Pro instead of the default service.. but still, would be nice if it worked =/

Well... I think I found the solution.

Atleast it works on my phone... Instead of pressing the textbox once you have to press it twice. Double-tapping works for me, every time .

Whenever you reply on a message and the textbox is already opened, a single tap is enough.
