So i cannot connect my galaxy nexus to my pc (Win7 64-bit) at all. When ever i plug it in it tries to connect but after a few seconds it says "failed to install drivers" Anyone know why?
You only need to install it on your PC.. it's just for the drivers, you can uninstall it right after you install it and the drivers will stay. You don't actually need to use it.
Apparently Kaspersky puts an in the registry that MTP driver installers choke on. I don't have Kaspersky any more, so just deleted the item (after backing it up!)
Much much easier to simply install the GNex Toolkit and have it install the drivers for you. If you don't want to root your phone, just stop after doing step 1 (which only installs the Galaxy Nexus drivers to your PC or laptop).
