Help Galaxy Nexus and... credit card w/ chip!?

So I casually placed my GNex on top of my wallet (phone is on, but no apps open) and hear this cool wavy sound. I repeat this motion a couple of more times and the same thing happens. I check my wallet, take out my credit card and place my phone in the credit card - the wavy sound again!

I know it probably has something to do with NFC... but does anyone know exactly what's going on when the sound is made?

The sound is the noise it makes when it detects nfc chips. Your card would have an nfc chip for swypeless payment(just tapping your card)
