Good evening
Looks burrrrr BB's !
It is very burrrrr. Me no like
It fitty d'greez here
btw exodus looks nice on your phone how you liking 17 and that theme?
Wondering if anyone has seen this. The 4g signal in my house is low so I use wifi at home. My wifi it's not strong in the master bedroom so I added a Diamond network extender (it uses the same ssid). My laptop seamlessly transfers to the the stronger signal . However, the gnex stays connected to whatever signal it's on even if it's the weaker signal. It will connect to the stronger signal if I turn wifi off then back on. Anyone have any ideas on how to get it to switch automatically?
I haven't flashed 17 yet. No time to set everything up. I'm thinking I might have time tomorrow night.
Aha, well awesome, you have some fun flashing to look forward to
I love flashing! Lol.
I know you've tried a couple kernels. Which one is best for battery?
Me too!!
That is my #1 priority in a kernel
Imoseyons have always been best in the battery dept w/o sacrificing smoothness until he got to 1.6 and 1.6.1 and 1.6.4. He's up to 1.6.6 and battery drain issues from the previous 1.6'rs are supposed to be fixed now. I haven't tried it yet.
imoseyons 1.2 is the best I've tried so far. After 48 hours with Faux's .9m kernel it just about matches imoseyons 1.2 but with the later Linux kernel updates so that's nice.
Are you still on stock kernel that came with aokp? If so, and you decide to try faux's, you won't have to flash the reset kernel beforehand. Only the .9m kernel.
Boy I'm gabbin aren't I I'd try imo's 1.6.6 or faux's .9m
I'm on imoseyon's 1.6.4
So I'll either try the newest 1.6.6 or maybe go with faux's for a switch .
Thanks!!
anyone using our nexie to call much? (go figure, right?) what are your thoughts?
my fiance has the droid incredible 2 and call quality is just pitiful when i'm talking to her. it's choppy to the point where it's noticeable, but it's not like she's not understandable. but i have to pay attention to make out most of the words. almost every call i have to ask, "is it my phone or yours?"... but she's never complains about being able to hear me clearly. i really haven't had much experience talking to anyone else - she's really the only one i talk to regularly throughout the week.
i've tried speaker and bluetooth. speaker phone is prob worse since the sound has to bounce off and muffled through the phone.
and if she's driving it's even worse.
Yes, it has a hard time doing anything on the weaker signal, that's why I added the extender. I can force it to switch to the stronger signal by toggling the wifi on and off. Without the extender, it struggles on the weak wifi and if I turn off the wifi I either get 4g with no bars or 3g with one or two bars. The wifi extender works well, I just don't understand why the gnex does not switch automatically to the stronger signal if it sees a remembered network. When your GN stays connected to the weaker WIFI signal, does it ever lose the signal completely? If not then I personally would say 'so what'
While on your GN and connected to the WIFI with the weaker signal, does your GN exhibit sub-par network/data performance?

That's a good suggestion, but I need it to do it by signal strength because it depends on where I am in the house and which signal is stronger relative to where I am.

Have you tried checking the "Avoid poor connections" options in the wifi settings? That may help, let us know...

Is it working alright for you battery life wise?
If you go to faux you'll need to flash the 4.0.3 reset kernel to set ramdisk back to stock. Just don't forget that step ! yw!
I talk quite a bit on it....and listen. After owning a Bionic (moto superb call quality), BBerry, Eris, & Incredible, the call quality on my GN is excellent! Both in how I sound to others and how others sound to me, Bluetooth, speakerphone, earpiece, I love it all
Wow I never knew this thx! Although I don't have this option must be the ROM I'm running are you on stock?
Ahh I see. Well in that case something like Tasker or Locale in the market could do this. They are not cheap apps just another suggestion =)
OR use NFC task launcher and some stickers (it's awesome!) and create tasks based on where you are. NFC task launcher can create this task and you can customize it to connect to certain access points or WIFI spots
edit: matter of fact the more I think about NFC could be your ticket. Have you played with the GN's NFC yet?
