Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

So I'm at Best Buy, looking for a case.

They only have one, and I think it's for an imaginary phone.

so yeah I took my OTG cable and plugged it into my Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse and it gets 100% support the second its plugged in. Even the volume buttons and play pause button work. Play opens music. Its sick and I'm really happy

Is there any mouse lag? I get a ton of mouse lag with my bluetooth mouse.

FYI I started having some trouble with ADWLauncher EX and have gone back to ICS launcher (stock) until ADW EX is fixed up a bit to work with ICS. I had problems with the wallpaper disappearing and widgets not showing their contents correctly.

Loving the nexus! Anyone have a suggestion for a good grocery app, free or paid?

I use Mighty Grocery, only because it was Amazon's free app of the day a while back. It works fine for me, but I can't really compare it to any others.

Well I'm at Verizon looking at the incipio double cover.

They won't let me try it before buying, the morons.

Does anyone have this? Does it make it much thicker?

Wow I'm surprised VZ corp has let me unpackage and try out every accessory I've ever been interested in including car docks. idk

Anyone else try unlocking/rooting on a Mac yet? Anything wonky I should know about before giving this a shot?

I second this request. I think I'm more nervous about trying this because windows and I don't play well usually.
I did it last night on my MacBook. It took me two tries to correctly installing the SDK to unlock the bootloader, but after that it went fairly smoothly.

There's a nice easy to follow guide by AlexKP at

I'm kind of dumb, but once I learned the terminal command of using "cd" to navigate to the correct folder it worked fine. Check out his thread and let me know if you have any problems and I'll try to help. In review, it seems its easier to root on a Mac than a PC because you don't need to download drivers.

On an off topic note (wait, that doesn't apply here does it?) hello from Lagos, Nigeria. There was a debate on our previous forum about the Nexus in Africa, but I'm betting mine is the first Verizon Nexus on the continent!

Wow... I'm amazed at how much better the GPS is on this phone than it was on my Fascinate.

The Fascinate actually worked pretty well, but it was slow to lock on; took minutes outdoors, and indoors it never could get a lock at all. I tested our the Nexus earlier, and it locked on instantly, indoors! Samsung seems to have gotten it right this time.

Well this is troubling.

I compared my Gnex to the one in the store, and my whites are definitely grayer than theirs.

:(

Thanks. I think the more you all throw around sdk and commands and such I'm just gonna wait for my next Star Wars night and bat my baby blues and say pretty please make my phone like yours. :D

Africa?? Sheesh. You don't do the little flights at all do ya? I think you should start a Captain's Log thread and post pics from places when you can.

I'm in a really trashy town because my wife is looking at a dog breeder's newest litter with a friend who is interested in getting a St. Bernard.

Everyone in this town is a lazy rube.

Did you make sure you have the same brightness set?

Yep. Both at max brightness. Went to Apple.com, the whitest site I know of, and there's a very marked difference.

:(

Definitely considering going back to my local store and exchanging.

After I lock and unroot of course.

Him, just a bum screen you think?

Hey Han,
It adds more bulk than the silicone cases, of course. I got one and hated it almost instantly. The inner silicon rubber is a lint magnet. Once or twice in your pocket and it has a frosting of fuzz electrostatically attached. Hate that.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. This blows.

I noticed that it was a bit gray/dark, but chalked it up to the display Samsung decided to use. But now that I compared the two, there is definitely a difference.

Does anyone know how the exchange process works? Will they swap it out in the store for me?
