Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

So, after being on the Universal rom for a night, I don't think it has solved the "awake" issue yet.

CPU total is 23 min, awake time is 3 hours, 20 min.

Does anyone know if picasa provides links to images like photobucket does?

I love the ability to upload pics to Picasa, but I need to be able to embed them like I do with photobucket!

Not sure, but photobucket works so well I just use it. Integrates easily and the app is done well imo

So like I mentioned last night, when I flashed to Universal I lost the clockwork mod recovery app.

It's not in the market. . . . . . . .

Does anyone know how I can get it back?

Edit:

nm. I was thinking of rom manager. Got it back from market.

Yeah I'll go back to stock once 4.0.3 gets pushed out.

Is there a problem with the Gnex you have now?

I'm just being my usual paranoid self .... I want to run by the store and compare screens & see if they are getting better 4g than me.

Yeah I don't think the sound issues fixed it either.

Seems to be inside the kernel somewhere. Maybe we wait til 4.1 -- just annoyed that this would happen.

Still love the phone though.

Yep, it is annoying. But with a spare battery always fresh, it doesn't bother me too much.

4.1, from what I have heard, will be a major improvement in some areas.

It's a lot easier to be patient for updates on this phone, because you know they are coming.

Also JuiceDefender seems to be helping a lot.

I realized that there is nothing on the phone I need urgently so the 15-30 minute interval for syncing data is just fine for me. I just need to figure out how to have JD leave WiFi on when I am on it since it uses less battery than the radio searching for 3G or 4G signal.

I'll post a screenshot as I am leaving work after using JD for the day.

I'm the same way, and very nitpicky with expensive gadgets.

I had a tough weekend with two exchanges, but this one is my keeper.

The whites are better and the lag I had is gone. Videos are excellent as well.

If you're not happy with it, go compare it to the live demos in the store. It might be that you've got a lemony phone.

Has anyone else noticed that the CSR's are a lot friendlier now that the phone is out? Just had a great chat with one when I went to ask if my $24.99 price for the extended battery would be honored, and we got to talking about the Nexus and how I liked it overall. This is the second time they've asked about how I like it, so it seems like Verizon is going out of their way to get feedback on the phone. He was an iPhone user, but even he had to admit the iPhone 4S couldn't keep up with the Nexus.

Also, FWIW, I asked about the 3 pin car dock, and he said that'll be coming out eventually. Didn't know when, but said there was one on the way. So keep an eye out for that.

Oh, how was everyone's weekend?

Good morning everyone and happy Monday.

Just paired my Pogo printer to my Nexus and it works great in case anyone has one of those toys.

Out of curiousity, what would be a good ratio? What kind of times should we be looking for. Right now, I'm at CPU total 12 min 43 sec, Keep awake 39 min 1 sec. after 2.5 hours on battery. I'm at work, not using the phone as heavy as I would out of the office, hence the low numbers.

Lol I noticed the same thing.

I called about a battery price question, and she said "So you were able to wait it out, huh?" and laughed.

She mentioned that most of their calls in the days before release were about the Nexus, and that it was very frustrating because they honestly didn't know anything.

I turned off Juice Defender because I was having a conversation on Gchat and these are my numbers -- its pretty awful.

2h 7m 30s on battery
61% - Discharging
Screen - 59%
Android OS - 20% (Keep Awake: 1h 33m 55s)

Not really sure what is good or not, but I know that my numbers are bad. Just not sure if they are "lemon" bad. Curious to see what happens when I get the extended battery.

Yeah I've been keeping up with his thread, very excited about some of the features he's incorporating. There don't seem to be that many ROMs around yet, are there a lot of kernels being developed?

And just like that :D build Dec 19

If anyone is running 4.0.3 yet (Bird's seems the most stable), Franco's nightly build Kernel is available for dnld. Conservative gov set as default and tweaked for maximum battery life and performance, but no CIFS, TUN, OC or UV. Those modules should be up tonight'ish maybe by tomorrow.

This is good news. I want one of them. Just for the novelty factor!

Weekend was fun. How was yours?

How are you printing from Android?
I have a polaroid pogo printer. It's a bluetooth printer. You pair it like you would your headset. The paper is tiny though (2"x3") and is actually a sticker. It's more just for fun than anything else.

Worked all weekend. This two jobs thing is getting to be a pain. Day 15 out of 20 without a day off right now. Oh well, at least I have a job at all, right?

Morning all!

BB...wow, you've made me gawk again at an animated avatar, lol.

Took my phone for a day trip this weekend and lasted 15 hours taking pics, videos, uploading them to Google+ and Youtube, general browsing, checking Facebook, 30 minutes or so of Navigation etc. All on 4G. Very satisfied over the battery life so far and I have the extended battery arriving today! LOVE THIS PHONE!!!
