Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I've spent about a minute with the DNA. Beautiful screen. Fast. HTC look and feel. I'm sure it would be a great phone to have. Haven't seen a Nexus4.

Humm I think I would love it coming from the HTC Inc 1 and 2 before my nexus I kinda Jones for sence every once and a while and being away for a while I think I would like it more exp being on that big screen with nice specs.

Hey guys, question for all of you with N7s: what video player app do you use? I use MX Player, but am curious to know if a different one might be better. Thanks! :)

Thinking of wiping my phone and going back to stock this weekend? Anyone here do that yet?

Still running Sourcery on mine. Can't see going to stock.

Can't give a clear answer, only have used Netflix on ours. What's the problem you're running into?

Not running into any problems as yet, just want to make sure that I have an app that will be able to play the movies that I'll be transferring over. Would hate to be on the 14 hour flight to Israel and have the movies not work. :p

Well, 8 to 10 inches of snow this week. AND I DIDN'T HAVE TO SHOVEL ANY OF IT! :)
The best thing about living in an apartment.

I think today I'll definitely go watch The Hobbit.

But first I have to watch the Steelers last game. Last weeks game was pathetic. There is no reason they shouldn't have won that game. Then Heath Miller getting hurt like that made the night even less enjoyable. They should be going to the playoffs!

Likely never will. It's the only bank I've ever used and their services and customer service are top notch. I can use any ATM, scan and deposit checks at home, have my renters insurance through them, car loan (plus the car purchase), and there's plenty I haven't even touched.
It's only available through those in the military or dependents (my dad was in the Navy), but I love it. :)

I've had USAA insurance for 35 years and just switched to using their banking service last month. I'm sorry I waited so long. Not only do I get the benefits you've mentioned dread (love the deposit checks at home!) they charge no international fees on ATM withdraws overseas which is a big money saver for me.

Well, I found out that my GNex doesn't like coffee as much as I do. It didn't take much for it to crap out on me. I can still boot it up and even make calls with my bluetooth headset, but the touchscreen is unusable.

Since I'm very hard on my portable devices I had it insured and the replacement should be here tomorrow, but I have a couple questions.

I can copy my current data and most recent nandroid to my computer, but is there a way to make a current nandroid without using the touchscreen with TWRP?

What's the easiest way to wipe the phone without using the touchscreen?

Have to say, my brother in law was super giddy when he married my sister just to be able to join USAA. :D
They really do offer some great services and everytime I have to call, they are the nicest of any customer service folks I've ever spoken to.

Busy day here. Spent all afternoon assembling a new corner computer desk, and now I'm assembling a new TV stand. Hopefully things return to normal tomorrow and I can spend some real time on here.

Hey all :) Saw The Hobbit today finally, very pleased, excellent movie.

Currently converting my Star Wars DVDs to be able to play them on my N7. Any opinions on whether I should convert to 720x480, or 1280x800, the N7's native resolution? Will it affect file size drastically? I feel like a bad nerd for not knowing this. :o I guess I'll just go ahead and give it a shot and see.

Yea you can move your back up and put on new phone after rooting and your good to go...
Yes there you can use ADB and obtain a backup that way
The commands are out there I don't know it off the top of my head but wigz nexus toolkit on xda will make a backup from there

While in that toolbar you can flash back to stock and relock. All with out touching your phone

I can still go into recovery. I'm going to backup, wipe and install updated Sourcery and Gapps.

I download the latest Wugs Toolkit and I was going to start over fresh with my phone and 4.1.2 wasn't one of the options so I tried the second option, JB Custom Rom, but it said something like that wasn't supported? I forget exactly what it said?

Oh well. I'll try the above. If not, I'll just mess around with it?

Best of luck. I'm not sure what I used to initially root whether it was Wug's or not. It certainly can't hurt. I ran it for my N7 several times when I was bootlooping.
BTW, it may be a good time to upgrade your ROM. There's 4.2.1 based Sourcery out now. :)

Yep. I downloaded it the other day, just never installed. I just downloaded the 12/12 gapps a few minutes ago and I'm doing a backup. Since I couldn't run Titanium there will be some newer apps that will need to be reinstalled one by one.

Just started using TiBu for the first time a couple months ago even after buying it a year or so ago. It really is a lifesaver. Not sure why, but Sourcery has you restore apps from the Play Store. I've always done it with TiBu without any issues.

Talk about bizarre! I ROMmed my son't Nexus with the exact same sequence I used: TiBU, nandroid, superwipe, JBSourcery 4.1, Gapps 12/12, reboot. And TiBU only showed ONE APP to restore!

Lacking everything but ingenuity ( ), I went back into TWRP and did a partial nandroid restore of the /DATA partition only. Best case? He gets the latest ROM and all his data back. Worst case, the phone borks and I have to start wayyyy back from scratch with the Toolkit.

It WORKED!

One happy son now :D

Disclaimer: YMMV
