Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Haven't used the app since updating to JB. I assume it will only flash compatible kernels? Maybe I'll try Franco's again.

I haven't flashed kernels since my OG Droid days as the D2 wouldn't allow it. Guess the devs have come a long way since then.

I might be sent to Australia in the next few months here to go work with Telstra directly (I support Telstra and Sprint (both different companies) with their performance management). Better to go to Australia to see Telstra than Kansas for Sprint ;)
Jealous! I've always wanted to go to Australia.

Alright, any cocktail people out there want to take a look at this menu?

If the wife gets home from work in time to go, I'd love to. It's in the same hotel as the restaurant for dinner. Ah looks like they give you a free drink on your birthday. Wonder if I can convince them to give my wife one for the day after. ;)

looks good! :) I would definitely partake in a froo-froo drink from there haha

Edit: if it doesnt come with a little umbrella then I don't want anything to do with it!

Yeah, prices are a little obscene, even by DC standards, but this is celebration time! I'm a tequila nut and those two they have on there look great! :)

Wow, Yellowcard, they haven't been on my radar since high school! I had no idea they were still around.

Same here. I used to listen to a lot of punk and ska in high school and am amazed when one shows up on the local venues here.

They've actually released quite a few albums recently:
Lights and Sounds - 2006
Paper Walls - 2007
When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes - 2011
Southern Air - 2012

These last two albums rival Ocean Avenue though - two of my favorites from them.

So, tomorrow is our anniversary. Got flowers ordered and having them delivered to her workplace...normally just have them for her at home but she has made mention of several other teachers that have received them at school...so they're going to school this time. Made sure to spend extra on them to make the other teacher jealous :) Got her favorite flower in there and the whole bouquet is in the color theme of our wedding. Since it's mid-week, I think I'll just grill steaks and do baked potato and a salad and then take her out this weekend.

I haven't had much luck with LK on the JB ROMs. I've been very happy with Franco's kernel.

I was always the opposite. Even on ICS Franco never agreed with my phone. Faux was good on ICS but not on jb. Lk seems to be the best for me so far. Just shows how fickle the phone can be.

Hello....hope everyone is doing well.

+1 on the RSSs, although I don't usually comment, they are a day brightener for me!!!! Keep up the good work, I appreciate it.

BB welcome back!!

I got called for jury duty today, so off to the jury room in a bit.

Still working on the light frame, led and arduino controller this week, hope to make enough progress to give it all over to him next week.

And we finally picked up all the wine we had preorderred. Invites are going in the mail tomorrow-turns out we had to double the postage, since they do not bend. Oye. Other than that, wedding prep is in full swing/stress-out/panic mode!!!
For those that would like to see a little about what's going on, here is a link to our website....Fair Warning: we do not have our life story posted for a reason, so would appreciate it if nobody shares that site publicly....however, I wanted to share it with this family anyways!!!

Marc-just wanted to say hi to a fellow Cali. If you are ever up in Santa Barbara, with some time to kill, let me know and I will buy you guys a drink or lunch or something!!

Funny, Franco never worked for me on ICS and LK was always blazing and had good battery life. Now LK seems to drain more than stock. Maybe just my imagination.

Interesting, I had no idea they were so prolific. I loved the "Ocean Avenue" single back in the day, I've still got it on my computer/Google Music; in fact, it's been stuck in my head since earlier. :p Stigy, any other particular songs you'd recommend I look into for a taste of their larger work?
Razor - thanks for all the great RSRSS links. I don't comment on a lot of them but I do thoroughly enjoy them.

Thanks for the kind words guys :) Seeing the list of thanks under the posts really feels good too, I like knowing that I give you all useful info.

The other thing I've been thinking is that I was hoping to get some more feedback from all you guys about what you like to see in the posts, what you wish I'd do more of, what I should do less of, a different area I should cover, etc. If it's not asking too much, it would be super helpful :) If not, I'll just assume that everything is perfect ;) Thanks!

Sounds so sweet. :D
Sent flowers to my wife at work. Got real nervous whether I got the address right (she works in a big commercial area). Well they received them and the chef check'd em in and put them in the walk-in. One of her co-workers asked my wife if she could use "these flowers" for a catering event.
Well, they figured out they're for her and she finally got them. :)
Have a great time, dinner sounds delicious.

Hi all!! I have been having trouble sleeping lately - I have been working a ton more and it has been stressing me out so I've been trying to find ways to fall asleep.

I know what you mean. This past week I have not slept real good either. For the most part, just my mind being very active. This cold I got has not helped either. Got some decent sleep last night though, the cooler weather helped.

Very cool Ryan, boy have things changed since my wedding!:-)

Honestly the entire Ocean Avenue album is really good - my favorite album.

From the new album (released today) check out Always Summer, Awakening and Here I Am. Always Summer has one of the most intense violin solos/riffs ever - the guy is amazing.

From When You're Through Thinking... check out For You and Your Denial and Soundtrack.

From Lights and Sounds check out Lights and Sounds and How I Go.

Let me know what you think.

I'm gonna start moving all these music posts to that forum! :p
Nah, seriously what is everyone else listening to these days? Restaurant I'm at has the Johnny Cash Pandora station on and I'm loving it :)

Thanks buddy, I'll probably take you up on that when ever we make it south! I do San Luis Obispo trips pretty often but thats a little ways aways from ya still.

On different note, I kind of wanted to talk a bit about the Samsung + Apple trial. I see a lot of ignorance coming from people talking about the trial and wanted to get some opinions.

Do I think Samsung copied Apple? Yes and No. I definitely think they borrowed a lot of ideas from Apples design, not to copy it, but to innovate on it. How could you not? People loved Coke when it first came out. Coke is a soda. Someone said, "Hey, I can make a soda that tastes different than coke!" So they used the same carbonated water, same bottle, and changed the flavor and logo and called it their own. Coke pioneered and started the soda industry, but companies like Pepsi also innovate on it. Why couldn't Apple take advantage of Samsung/Android innovations? I think these patents do not hold validity, and this is Apples working its way up to Android as a whole. What do you guys think?

I'm actually staying away from it. Once a site's traffic drops because no one can view it on their phone they will get off their tushes and update it to current web standards.

I'm the same way. Is it frustrating at times - yes. But if companies won't keep up with technology then they don't get my business.
