Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Chief - there's a note in their messages about a recovery file in case of bootloops. I'm going to pass until we have no problems with that stuff.

Tragically none of our staplers at home have this cut out. :(
Not that I'm too worried - as long as I have my keys with me I have a bottle opener on my keychain.
I checked my stapelers at home too and have the same problem. Fortunately I learned in college how to open beer bottles with my teeth.

Unfortunately that nasty habit led to me paying for my current dentist's son's college tuition. I've learned my lesson. Only use my teeth to open beer bottles when I'm really, really thirsty.

Edit: Post 999. I'll have to take a break and rest up for the big one, but don't worry, it will be here in the Watering Hole. I had an anonymous Girl Guide chastise me for being unfaithful and visiting other forums. :D

That sounds painful!! My brother uses his wedding ring to open beer bottles. If I can't unscrew the top myself, and my keys are not available, I use charm to get someone else to do it! :D

I was going to go watch a movie today and saw that listed. Not knowing what it was I went to youtube to check it out. Once I realized what it was my mouth was hanging open! I couldn't believe that movie WAS ALLOWED to be made let alone SHOWN across the country in theaters. I only have one word for it...BRILLIANT :)

And Chief, I'm not sue if you are aware of the statistic...1 in 3 is receiving free handouts from the government. I think that is not including medicare/medicaid?

We saw it at an early matinee today in Asheville, it was nearly full. It just opened here Friday.

Wow, looks like a good time for me to jump on the JBSourcery boat! I'm making a nandroid as we speak. :) What Gapps are people using to flash these days? Anyone got a link I could use? Much appreciated.

What is so great about the jb sourcery rom? Just curious.

Oh and still on the hunt for some nice wallpapers. Thanks all.

Sourcery has all sorts of customizations built in. I dare say more than the other roms. And the devs are quick to answer questions and requests.

Hmm really? Maybe I will give it a go. How is battery life? What kernel are you using? I run and like Trinity myself.

It's strange how things happen sometimes. This morning I woke up about 4:30am because it was hot so I turned on the a/c. For some odd reason I picked up my phone and checked out facebook. My oldest sister comments on my statues update..."PAIN IN LEFT ARM HELP". I respond without even thinking..."left arm pain is a heart attack" and fall back asleep. She's been in the hospital since 8am for observation but all test are negative for a heart attack.

I haven't gotten a good handle on battery yet. I went from flashing the ROM, learning all about the customizations, an hour phone call most nights and constant texting to maybe 10 texts a day, a few times in Google talk and maybe checking the weather. So today's battery life was awesome. :o:p
I've stayed on the kernel with the ROM. Chief might have more insight for you on that.

Hi Razor -

Downloads are HERE

Just in case you didn't see the thread around here it's HERE
Thanks BB, you're the best :)

As someone who hasn't flashed anything in a while, remind me - if I'm flashing something like the new LeanKernel as well, that would be in between flashing the ROM and Gapps, right? :o (ie. between steps 4 and 5 on the Team Sourcery page)

Also, the Team Sourcery page recommends allowing apps to restore from the Market, but I was thinking I'd just restore from my TiBu backup this time around. Should I follow their instructions exactly? Sorry for the annoying questions.

Hi semi-stranger. How are things?

Going okay I guess. Things could be worse, I suppose. Kind of going through some personal stuff right now, mostly in the social area. Something I am not too up to speed on. I don't really understand what I am doing. Friends are really hard to come by for me and females are extremely rare for me, even if they are friends. Trying for coffee once again with her later in the week, the first time something came up and she could not make it. So, yeah... :o

Not annoying at all. When I flash a new kernel I usually do the ROM then gapps and then reboot to make sure all is ok. Then I go back into recovery and do the kernel flash.
Apps - I restored user apps from TiBu. I have never allowed the market to do it. I think that's a personal preference though.

This may be the most obvious question ever, but if I reject the Market download, how do I access TiBu to restore my apps? Just thought of that.

I believe that there is an update.zip file included with TB that allows you to install TB via recovery, thus circumnavigating the need to have the market available at that point in time.

Razor,

I'll second BabyBlues. Conventional wisdom is to always flash ROM, gapps, then reboot before flashing any mods or kernels. I'm pretty sure if you don't do that way hell will freeze over and dogs will be sleeping with cats.

As far as kernels, I had a lot of luck with LeanKernel on ICS, but since being on JellyBean my battery seems to do better with Franco. Of course, every phone is different.

I restored my apps via TB on Sorcery with no ill effects (other than the fact I can't stop drooling, have a twitch in my left eye and can't pronounce the letter "L".)

Ahh, genius. Where is the zip located so that I can flash it?

EDIT: Solved, had to create the zip in TiBu itself.

Yikes. I had no idea how close I was to dooming the world last time I flashed a ROM.

EDIT: Congrats on 1,000 posts, Captain! We salute you. ;)

Phew, okay, so everything is flashed, apps restoring from TiBu now. Someone tell me how to get into Google Now on this thing, it's what I've been looking forward to most! :p

EDIT: Sig updated :D
