Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Our shows have ratings too but that would require parents to pay attention. (And let's face it - we all know at least one or two of those types of parents).

You are talking about public cable. This would be over the air broadcasts that would go to TVs with no parental locks available. Cable has to have some sort of box, at least it does over here, which would have parental controls. Paying attention is one thing and more parents should take initiative in that department. But allowing stuff like that to be broadcast over the air where a child can flip through the channels and happen upon it is not cool by me.

Edit: I think some people forget that people still use antennas/rabbit-ears to watch TV :p

Our entire country has public cable tv, nothing ota.
We do not have any parental lock. No idea what you mean.
You can lock your tv with a code or keep the rc in a parental pocket?

In the US, cable companies have set top boxes that you plug the cable into and then transmit the video to your tv over HDMI or some other set of A/V cables. The set top box is programmable like a satellite box with a guide and parental controls. You can tell the box to not allow viewing of certain channels or any show above a rating you specify without a password.

Ah! Like on our decoder :) (all cable channels digitally encoded here)
Sowwy, never paid any real attention to that, no kiddies.

Yeah, that's what the set top box does here. It's a decoder, but they add the extra features for parental controls and such :)

I prefer desktop websites.

If mobile websites are designed properly to where you can do all the things the desktop site does but be in a more compact design, then I prefer mobile when I'm on my mobile device. Some sites are poorly designed though.

Working.

Morning! I get to go be a witness for the town prosecutor today for an arrest made after I called the police last august. Long story short - creepy man outside the nail salon just staring in. Was there long enough to make us think he was up to no good. Called the police. Turns out he was drunk! So it should be a quick court hearing and I can get to work hopefully by noon.

5 senior employees have left HTC. Not looking good for them.

Geez, what's going on at HTC?? They're putting out good product and top employees are leaving?

And, hey, I saw an ad for the One while watching something on Hulu!
I don't know, it's a pretty sad state of affairs. I feel like ever since the EVO days, they just can't roll out something with the pomp it needs regardless of how good the product is.

Got to play with the One last weekend. Crispy screen, blown away by the sounds and liked the aluminium touch.

Anyone think there is a chance of new hardware being announced during Verizon's CTIA event at 2:15pm today?

And Apple is at it again. They say Google Now violates Siri patents.
