Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I got to play with a new Nexus 7 today at Best Buy since I had to go in and buy refill cards. I have to say it is simply stunning, but I have to resist until the LTE version comes out. Jmar, since you work in the Best Buy Mobile section, do you know if I were to pop a sim card signed up for the 30 dollar plan with 5gb of data into a data enabled tablet and have it work. It just would make so much for sense to use the the 5gb that comes with that phone plan rather than only get 2gb for the same dollar amount.
You should be able to use your SIM in it.

BTW, sorry I haven't been around for about 2+ weeks. Been working a lot. I'm intrigued by only one device. The Nexus 5. Here's why...

My Nexus 4 is in perfect condition. I can get 250 (Gift Card) for it right now from Best Buy. Now, granted I would not be able to purchase the Nexus 5 at Best Buy, but I do need to buy a new TV since my son broke the bottom portion of my flat screen. So I'd buy the Nexus 5 from Google. Trade in my Nexus 4 and buy a new TV using my the Gift Card and money.

Being on T-Mobile (in San Jose, CA) I'm in a unique situation which allows me stay focused on the only phone I want to carry: a Nexus (and my T-Mobile G1 (which I am going to get SIM unlocked soon) as a backup).

Miss y'all!

So I used WugFresh to root. It froze the first time and noticed only superuser was in my app drawer and no busybox. So ran it again. This time it installed both but WF froze again saying "waiting for device". I update SU and installed buysbox. It's just Wugs program never actually said my phone is rooted. Should I run it again or should I just assume my phone is rooted?

Halon, you can try using Root Checker. It'll let you know :)

You ever heard of a Blu-ray player with an infrared remote interfering with a satellite receiver with a UHF remote? Me either.

I was lead instructor and the Navy's point man for Electromagnetic Compatibility and everything in my mind is screaming THIS CAN'T HAPPEN! But it did.

We changed out the remotes, the satellite receiver, and then put in a whole new system. Dish technicians, engineers and I were all pulling our hair out. And the culprit was - in fact - the Blu-ray player above it. We relocated the satellite remote antenna with a makeshift extension cable and all is fine.

Just goes to show that electronics is NOT an exact science: trons are going to do what trons are going to do.

Hope everyone's Labor Day weekend is going swell! :)

Ha! Been there done that too. Even though our satellite remote was set to UHF, the actual receiver apparently would still accept IR signals. Shouldn't work like that! Did you cover up the "eye"? Maddening, right?

Bored. Can't get the Moto X 32GB on Verizon yet, too cloudy and rainy for BBQ, All reports handled and a lot of Introductions given, Tweeted Congressmen, kissed Darling Bride... NOW WHAT???

*SIGH*

I have to wonder if I'm the only bored soul sitting here waiting for someone else to type something. We're probably ALL here, but just assuming that everyone else if off doing Labor Day festivities and no one's typing anything :p

I went to Pittsburgh for the weekend. Here is something I have to remember not to do,again....Do not go to bar for 4 hours and eat a basket of crack fries and an andouille sausage hoagie, drink beer and then on the way home someone says we should go to Burgatory for a spiked milkshake. I seriously contemplated sticking my finger down my throat.

Milkshake on top of beer? I'm surprised you had to contemplate anything - my stomach would have hit the "reject" button about the first gulp!

You have a strong constitution, Halon. I gotta hand it to ya.

On top of all the beer I drank I had a Caramel Salted Pretzel milkshake with caramel vodka. It was so tasty! They give you huge straws because of the big chunks of whatever is in yours. In my case it was pretzels.

I kinda wish we ate here. They have elk and bison on the menu. Burgatory
