WOO HOO! Congratulations to my all time favorite spacecraft!

Voyager 1 has reached interstellar space : Nature News & Comment

:)
And can you believe some are debating that. Do people have nothing better to do? Pick a point out there, and call it. Just like NASA did with the Earth. Above a certain point, you get your Astronaut badge, even if technically there is still a bit of atmosphere.

Some scientists debate the demarkation line of interstellar space.

Well, in scientific defense, the magnetic fields observed by Voyager were not those expected: so the edge of the solar system really didn't have a defined line to call. Depending on what day it is, a point in space out there can be in the solar system one day and in interstellar space the next.

I suppose it took time to sort through the data, figure out what they were looking at and wait until Voyager was well outside any solar influence before calling it. Hopefully THAT data will be used to create that demarcation line you long for for Voyager 2.

And I did. Dropped my daughter off to school, and went to the local corp store. Got there when they were opening, went in and a few minutes later came out with the G2.

No worries.

Awesome! What do you think of it so far? :)

So far so good. Still trying to figure out some of the customizations.

Screen is huge and bright. Sitting next to the Gnex shows you how dim the Gnex screen is.

For those who were considering switching to Straight Talk, their website is now claiming that they support AT&T or T-Mobile LTE on their BYOP sim program.

But those buttons on the back...
Yeah this is what I want to know.

Man this Bionic is awful - probably time to root it and get some stock software on this thing, eek. High Android OS bug is killing me -- haven't seen that since the early GNex days.

Bionic? Did I miss something here?

So I tried to change the glass on the GNex myself and while doing so (even though I thought I had done it perfectly) I cracked the actual LCD and now the screen won't turn on at all.

So using my Dad's old Bionic until I can decide on something new.

Hopefully when VoLte rolls out we will get to play all kinds of phones!

I don't know about Sony because they don't seem very concerned with infiltrating the US, but Google would definitely have a Verizon capable Nexus phone once VoLTE goes into effect. They've already proved it by releasing the Nexus 7 compatible with Verizon LTE only without adding a CDMA radio. Mine arrives today if all goes well.

What are you thinking about? Moto X, Note 3, N5?
Thinking N5 when it comes out - I think Note is just too much (read: big) of a phone for me. I've been hearing really good things about the G2, but we'll see.

Not leaving Verizon so gotta stick there as well. I just want a phone that will last me all day and has a decent camera, that's all I ask for.

And my wife and I still debate which way the toilet paper roll goes on.

If you are sticking with Verizon then why wait for the N5? Hoping for a surprise appearance?

Oh yeah, I remember you said your screen cracked. Didn't know you tried to replace it though...kinda stinks. Good that you didn't go and have to go buy something. I just sold my GNex last week for $100.

You know...I never thought that was an issue till I got married, and even then it didn't surface for a couple of years. I still haven't said anything to her about it, but it DOES matter which way it goes on!

I saw raw squid once as a child. I swore there was no way I would ever eat that. But it turns out, calamari is pretty tasty. ;)

Stupid analogy above, but you never know until you try something. Honestly, the back buttons aren't a big deal. You get used to them, and it does make the phone easier to hold as your not worrying about hitting buttons on the side. Plus the knock-knock power on feature is actually useful and you'd never even need to use the rear power button.

My biggest gripe with it so far is love/hate relationship with the software customizations. Some things are better than stock, other things are like WTF did you have to change that for. Unfortunately, you get this exact same scenario with Samsung, HTC and most Moto. Moto X has what I think the perfect software balance from what I've seen. Basically AOSP with a few useful tweaks. Too bad the hardware of the Moto X was beyond lackluster.

Years (many, many, many years) ago, I was buying a computer. At the time, I had a budget and had to make the choice between $300 extra for the 15" to 17" monitor, or that $300 for 8Mb of memory (yes, none of that was a typo).

I went with the rational that I could always add memory later, but can't add inches. (Waiting for BB to ROFL at that one :D).

Same here. I can change software, but HW is fixed. So I tend to gravitate towards HW specs.

Luckily for you I am here with a solution.:D

Fingers crossed! :D

Yeah only spent $10 on new glass too so wasn't horrible. Just sucks that this Bionic is awful. Going to root it and run the latest CM Stable on it, since I am still waiting for VZW binaries for 4.3 devices.

I just hope they are able to bring the "Knock" feature to custom ROMs because based on some reviews of the software I may want to root and ROM it, but we'll see. Maybe I can find one to play with in a store somewhere.

LOL! Nice. Actually, I really don't think it matters to the wife...she apparently doesn't pay attention to which way she puts it on because it's different every time. I just switch it if I find it not coming over the top, she never says a word so I assume she doesn't notice, lol. Luckily we have one of those hook TP holders so there's nothing to do but slip the roll of and turn it around and slip it back on...no messing with the spring loaded bars :p
