Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

WOW, this G2 is amazing. Hardware, camera, performance, etc have all blown me away so far. The LG software does leave a lot to be desired, but I plan to root it and change some things that annoy me. I was able to get rid of some of the annoying things and disable LG and Verizon bloatware and its much better than first power on.

I have almost an hour of screen on time from the train this morning and streaming Google Music for about 45 minutes and I am only down 10% - wowzers. I am blown away.

Happy Thursday!

Cut me some slack BabyBlues. I'm tired after a long flight from Amsterdam and I'm doing my best to be good while sipping a glass of wine cruising the AF. I've had a dozen "off color" responses run through my head reading the most recent posts and I think I've done a really good job restraining myself. xoxo

On a more serious note, good luck on your upcoming walk/run!

I'm impressed with your restraint Captain. :-D
And thank you! I'm really looking forward to it.

Quick shot from this morning I uploaded to Flickr - I will upload some more later.

You torture and stab me enough, I guarantee you I'll be smelly too :D

EDIT: Wow, the Boss REALLY loves the Note 3! A phenomenal review and then selected as the THE best Android Phone to buy for October!

Not to slight you G2 owners or HTC One fans (I know, this is one website's opinion), but I am so stoked for my N3 to show up in a whopping 7 days. I'm glad we'll all be happy with our phones!
Your not slighting anyone. There's a lot of great phone choices out there. People need to look at their needs and pick what works best for them. But this is a great time for mobile computing.

There is one incorrect item in the article, that the N3 has the first/only USB 3 port on a phone. That's wrong as the LG G2 also includes one. Charging with the LG cable is fast, so you'll also enjoy that with the N3. I'm talking less than 2hours for a full charge.

I still check the battery statistics daily, just to make sure it's not aberration. And I'm actually OK with the software load as is. Rooted away, a few bloatware items frozen and pretty good. Stock launcher is one of the best I've used.

Only item left to be determined is how well LG/Verizon handles the upgrade schedule. Don't want to stay stuck on 4.2 when 6.0 "Mars Bar" is getting released.

Now that the G2 has some ROMs, that's much less of a big deal.

And one of my cat from last night - this camera blows me away in indoor lighting compared to what the GNex could do. I would pretty much need every light on inside to get some decent pictures.

My S3 gets the job done (especially on a 4.3 based AOSP ROM), but I'm just super jealous about the camera and battery quality of the G2. :o

Yep. I have pics at home that printed from a G2 and they're soooo much better than what I've printed from Nyxie. As for battery life, I still carry 2 spare batteries with me

Ya'll are killing me with this G2 praise! SMF at Verizon!
What are you going to do when the Note 3 praise starts rolling in?

Seriously though, you got hosed. I'd be pissed off too. Not fair at all. That's why I just bit the bullet and bought at retail. Sucks, but didn't want Verizon messing with my contract at all.

Don't know about Bread but I think I might sit in the corner and cry. :p

If I can reign in the wifes' data usage, I don't have a problem with going to tiered data. N3 looks amazing, but TBH, I think it really is too big for me. :o
Otherwise, I'd jump on it in a second.

This past weekend we were approved to adopt Princess Leia, a 3 year old Shih Tzu. So my AF friends, meet the newest member of our family.
Awww. Too cute! And I love the name! My avatar is from Kadibug who is now 5 years old and she is a rescued, once badly abused Shih-tsu also. Now a very spoiled baby.

Anybody else waiting for Nexus 5? My contract with VZW is ending in December and I think I'll switch to T-mobile while getting Nexus 5.
