Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Evening all, just got back from picking my dad up at the hospital. He had to have an immediate surgery for severe cervical stenosis, he woke up one morning and could not lift his arm above his chest and was in significant pain. Only symptom was a sore shoulder for a few days, but we thought he just slept on it wrong. 5 hour surgery and three vertebrae, opened up, cleaned out, spaced and fused. He is already out of the hospital and staying with us while he recovers. His total time in the hospital under 24 hours. Very grateful be is ok and we were able to fix it before he had any major damage like paralysis. Feeling blessed.
 
Supervisor in my department was trying to talk me into taking over the gangleader position in my department. More money? Sure. More headache? Oh yeah.

Been a quiet weekend for me since the old lady is on vaca in NC. I'm just here holding the fort down and working. Keeping myself busy with bread, soap and jam making. :)
Gotten slightly obsessed with canning; looking to the next project.
 
Hi Dread! I think this is a record for the hole. My weekend has been spent taking care of my dad. He did great with the surgery on Thursday, Friday and Saturday were OK days. But alas, last night and today have been excruciating for him. They said day three and four were the worst after cervical fusion so he may have one more bad day. It's hard to see someone you love suffering and an interesting place in life to move into; the stage of caring for your parents. I am glad I can be there for him, he always has been there for me. Happy Sunday everyone.

I was on a family trip with my wife a couple years ago that her grandfather wanted since he knew he was going to die soon but wanted to gather the whole family for one last party. He was an amazing spirit and we all had a fantastic time. I did watch his sons really take care of him and the dedication they had as he was rather ill. Overall, a great time for everyone despite the point of the gathering. Hoping all the best to you and your family.
 
She's in our "home" town of Hickory (we're both born elsewhere). Visiting friends in Asheville as well. Having a great time with her folks. Wish I was there. :(
 
Just spent several rainy hours at Gillette Stadium for my first Pats game! I was soaked to the bone, but finally am back home to get out of all my gross wet clothes. My throat is totally hoarse from screaming, hahaha.

My last Christmas present came in the mail today it's my shinny new note 3 ... I opened it up and it didn't start it boot looped for about 20 minutes and never got passed the Samsung splash screen, I was crushed but called a t mobile near me and was luck enough be able to get a brand new one there in the store. I have not put the phone down since I got it home :D

Hi all - have really been disconnected from the internet over the past week. Hope everyone had a really enjoyable holiday.

Seems we had some loved ones in the hospital (need to fully catch up), but glad to see everyone is doing well.

Back in the office today and then off again tomorrow so I don't lose any vacation days. It's incredibly quiet here - surprised there are no tumbleweeds rolling around.

Figures. We have a top 5 defense for a decade. We finally have a great offense (number 2 in scoring) and now the defense couldn't tackle a mannequin.

Or bother to pick up a ball lying on the ground in a live play with no one around.

Stupid idiots. I hope the fat human doughnut Lance Briggs never comes back. And Chris Conte? He better be bagging groceries or standing in a soup line this time next year.

The NFL says the Charges should have been flagged for the missed KC field goal. I would rather to have not known that.
