Galaxy Note 2 flaking away ...

just noticed this the last few days, the flaking has started on the top right side of edge..... very disappointing and angry

Samsung better deliver all metal or better premium devices in 2014!!!

Mine was losing the chrome plating on the sides as well. So I dropped the phone, cracked the glass and got a replacement... Ok, dropping the phone wasn't because the chrome was flaking, but it did fix the chrome issue.

Mmmmmmm haha I am paying for insurance. .....

Still cost me $100 for the replacement phone. I'm not sure if I'd recommend it.

Yes. Insurance doesn't cover the whole replacement cost.

Same thing is happening to mine in 3 different spots. I thought i was scratching it on something but i keep my phone in my left pants pocket with nothing else. That pocket is my designated phone pocket and only use a flip cover. It's only cosmetic and i could always just get a case that will cover the band, but looking for the best case had been quite fruitless. Still looking for the right one.

2014 better be the year Samsung releases a more premium Galaxy Note 4

Mine has started doing the same thing. These devices are designed to fail after a certain amount of time. Everything from the circuitry to the craftsmanship. Put a case on it and try to avoid seeing the inevitable.
