galaxy note from india??

Does anyone have a galaxy note from India? Will it work on att bands? What needs to be done to make it work on the bands? Can I just put my sim card in and it will work? My cousin is there now and said he can get one for around 650. Thinking of selling my gsII or taking it back and tradeing for an iPhone and selling it. Just trying to make sure it will work if he brings one over. Thanks in advance.
 
I am from India and I have a Samsung Galaxy Note. I pre-ordered it from Flipkart.com. I am using it with a BSNL sim card (3G is still in the process of being configured, but voice calls work).

From your post, it is not clear whether you want to take the Note from India to the US, or bring it from the US to use in India. The Note is a global phone, but some features may be locked or unlocked based on the country of origin, as mentioned in the user manual.
 
Sorry. I will be using the phone in the US. The phone will be bought from India. I quess my question is do I have to unlock it to use with a AT&T sim or can I just pop it in and go??
 
I don't know what you mean by unlock. Phones sold in India are not network locked (in the majority of cases). So they are all 'unlocked'. AT&T in the US has an online customer support line where you can ask them. Chances are however that they will not know about it as the Galaxy Note has just been launched. I think it should work if you just pop in an AT&T sim.
 
I live in Singapore. I got my Note from India and popped in my SingTel SIM and it worked out of the box. No lobotomy of any sort. I got the note a good 2 weeks before it was officially released in Singapore ;)

In case you still havent bought this, its available for $600 now and no need to unlock, youll be able to use it outta da box :)
