Help Galaxy Note ICS -- screen flicker/pixellation on lock screen, and brightness cycling

Okay so I don't know how to describe this, but I just picked up my Galaxy Note (it was being charged through the USB port) and found that the lock screen was pixellated and was flickering. The screen was basically divided into several moving boxes (I wish I could take a screenshot somehow) and when I tried to press some keys, the brightness cycled up until the whole screen was filled with dots (one could still vaguely make out the lockscreen). I switched off the phone, removed the battery and put it back after a while.

Now everything seems normal. But what could have gone wrong? A virus? I use BitDefender Mobile Security and it never detects anything. However, every now and then I get annoying push messages. I have removed all the apps I thought might be causing a problem. Incidentally, I get push messages when I am not connected to any data network.

Any ideas?

All I can tell you is that other people have also reported the screen corruption problem you seem to be having. Given that more than one person has this problem, it is likely that Samsung will fix it sooner or later.

Not logical. If only a few people have a problem and most don't, then it's more than likely to be some kind of configuration problem. More and more people are finding that a reset solves their problems. That is logical.

I can confirm that this also happened to me. I just pressed the power button to lock it again and then unlocked it and all was fine. I haven't experienced it again yet.
I assumed it had something to do with NoLED.

I can confirm that this also happened to me. I just pressed the power button to lock it again and then unlocked it and all was fine.

Same happened to me twice in the last few days. No clue in which conditions it happened for the first time, but the second time it was right after connecting it to pc via usb.

This was scary - thought the screen was broken xD However simply pressing the Power/Reset/Lock key two times to switch off and the turn on the screen solved the problem.
