Help Galaxy Note N7000 virtual keyboard Problems

Hi I need help in more ways than one after a frustrating afternoon with my new device - Ready to go postal - take an stamp and stick it to my own forehead.

It is a beautiful gadget but after using the pen to write text directly into a text message every letter on the keyboard now types the word 'null'. This word was also captured on the clipboard and I have deleted it from there and reset everything I can think of in pen and keyboard settings.
The keyboard does this in all applications and programs and whatever letter I type "null' appears for each one.
So basically I cannot type.
Changing to swype instead of Samsung keypad on the 'Select Input' setting allows me to get proper letter values.
I have no idea what I have inadvertently done - hopefully it is Reversible.
Anyone got a clue?
All help appreciated.
Jane

Welcome Jane, glad to have you here :)

Unfortunately this error is unknown to me and i have never heard anyone encounter it...however, if you truly want to see if it is reversible you could perform a factory reset which will delete all of your data.

You could also try performing a battery reset by removing the battery reinserting it then powering up the device again.

Hope this helps! :)

EDIT: I will also be moving your thread into the Note forums to receive some better assistance!

Hi: I was wondering how you got to the keyboard settings? I seem to be unable to find mine, looked everywhere....
Any help wound be welcome.

Thanks for responding and moving my query to the appropriate area.

I will try a battery reset.

I spent a day inputting data so I'm not keen on doing a factory settings reset just yet.
At present I can input type by using the swype input setting.

Hi
For keyboard settings go to your Applications menu, select settings, select LANGUAGE AND KEYBOARD - from where you can select 'select input method' and choose either Samsung keypad or Swype.
Then you can go back from there and select again from the language settings 'Samsung Keypad' where you can set the input language, pen detection and on and on - including advanced settings where you will find word prediction, spell correct etc.
Pen settings has its own icon back in the applications list menu.

Hi again,
I just tried taking the battery out and re-powering.

No luck there unfortunately.

Thanks anyway
