Root Galaxy S II Update Error Fail - Please Help!

My phone (Samsung Galaxy s2 Epic Touch) keeps prompting for a system update.

It starts to update and then I get a picture of the android guy with a silver triangle with a yellow "!" inside of it.

I then press the menu button and along with other information it says "E:Error in /cashe/182a.....etc. (Status 7) Installation aborted."

It is driving me CRAZY asking for the update all the time. How can I update successfully or get the message to go away?

P.S. My phone is rooted.

My bro has the same problem on his E4GT he's rooted and every time he gets the ICS update the download won't go through it gets stuck on a yellow triangle he has a EL29
 
If you can get into Download mode, just flash a stock Rom with odin and then root and install a custom rom if you like.... It's a little time consuming but it's the best way.
 
is there any way that the OTA update will go through w/o having the traingle error when its trying to download the OTA update?
 
I'm getting the same thing on my sons E4GT. I have the stock ROM on it but it's rooted with a custom recovery. If I go back to stock recovery I'm wondering if it'll go through. I'll post back once I do that.

Hello guys thinking of moving over to here from the warp. And yes cwm is preventing the ota .restore stock recovery nd it should work,zte put out update and had same problem .
 
I flashed the stock EL29 ROM which went very smoothly and as soon as it booted up it applied the OTA ICS update. Worked like a charm.
