nickdalzell Extreme Android User Aug 3, 2013 #2 Maybe that is because packet data (GPRS or Verizon 1x) no longer exists? The S is quite old.

nickdalzell Extreme Android User Aug 4, 2013 #4 GPRS is actually 1G. 2G is EDGE, the lowest I've ever seen an Android phone go. Is the phone rooted? Could be lost or corrupted APN settings.
