Help Galaxy S2 crushed, internal memory question

My galaxy s2 got crushed under a chair leg today and now it won't power on. The phone is insured but can I retrieve the pictures/videos from the internal memory if the phone isn't turning on?

most likely, yes. i'd take it to a computer place where they retrieve info from hard-drives. see what they suggest or can do for you.

will the Usb connect still?
if so you can connect to your pc.

If your phone doesn't have a pass code and connects via USB you'll be able to get your pictures.

You will need your phone to power on to access the internal memory, but just because the screen is gone doesn't mean it's not coming on. If you plug it in to your PC, does anything happen?

If the chipboard is intact then you should be ok.
You can unscrew everything and stuff the chipboard in your new S2.
