Help Galaxy s2 firmware problem

Hi I am new to this forum and would like some help if possible when I long press on the on/off button I normally get the menu options like flight mode-restart ect but now it just switches off, It was working ok.
phone is a galaxy s2 GT-19100 android ver 4.1.2

phone 19100BULS1

CSC 19100VODLSC

phone will not check for updates any more via wifi or kies.
Kies says ( your devices current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via kies )

current firmware version :PDA:LSD/PHONE:LS1/CSC:LSC (xxx)

I have tried a factory reset but no differance.

Thanks for any advice Kevin

Once the shutdown menu appears, if you keep the button depressed for ~10s you force a power-off. That doesn't explain why the menu has suddenly stopped appearing though. Did its disappearance coincide with anything else, such as an update or app installation?

I9100XWLSD is the latest firmware for Vodafone UK, btw.

Hi Slug Yes the phone stopped working on 3g all of a sudden and when I contacted vodafone they said it was my phone then the day after 3g came back working. Although I have the latest version of jellybean installed if I go to settings/about phone/software update it does not even check like it use to to see if a later version is available and as above kies says software version not supported all this happened on the same day.

Thanks Kevin

It sounds as if the update has borked something - no surprise there, it's a bad idea to do a "no wipe" update between major OS versions. If only Samsung would realise this.... :(

Back everything important up; sync Contacts, Calendar etc to your Google account and enable the Backup option in Settings/Backup & Reset. Let the device sync then in the same menu select Factory data reset, and then on restart log-in to your Google account when invited. Your settings, apps etc will be restored and (hopefully) the handset will now function as intended.

Hi Slug thanks for trying to help me with this problem I updated about 4 weeks ago without any issues, this problem happened for no reason so I backed up my data with kies and google before doing a factory reset and usb format but still the update will no work via wifi or kies and still no menu when on/off button is pressed.

Thanks Kevin

As you're already on the most recent firmware, it could just be that the server is returning a cryptic message to the effect that no update is available.

Dunno what's going on with the shutdown menu.... I wonder if Vodafone have managed to break it?

Have no idea what is happening as now the mobile network will only work in GSM mode not WCDMA. Vodafone say it's not the network or sim?
