Help Galaxy S2 Hang Problem

Hi All,

I have recently purchased a new Samsung Galaxy S2. Today i experienced something very weird. While taking pictures, the galaxy s2 totally froze on me and would not go anywhere. I had to take the battery out to turn it off and reboot it.

Another issue i have bee experiencing is the lag between showing lock screen and swiping it away to unlock it. Meaning when i press the home button, the lock screen appears but it takes a second because i can actually swipe it away to unlock it.

Should I take it to the shop where i Got it from claiming that it is a faulty cell phone or is this something which happens to all the phones sometimes?

Thanks.

I can't comment on the camera locking up your phone. Glitches happen and I wouldn't worry about it unless it becomes a repeating problem.

As far as the wake-up lag, I would guess that you have an SD card installed with media on it. If you take it out, you should see the problem go away. I don't know if there is a 'fix' for this issue or not. As far as I know, I'd say not.

About the camera, lunatic is right. It isn't a problem if it doesn't repeat itself everytime.

If you press the home button to go to the home screen, I think there will be a slight lag because it is waiting to see if you tap it again. Double tap activates voice actions. So check 2 things. See if the same thing happens when you press the power button to wake the phone. Secondly, I noticed a lag when the phone been asleep for a long time, and you want to wake it up. If you just off the screen and you press it, the lag doesn't seem to be there. In that sense, its probably the processor just getting back up to speed. Don't think there is anything to worry about.

Cheers

Thanks a lot guys. The camera problem didnot happen again so i think that was just a glitch.

As far as the lock screen goes, when i press on the home button, the image appears almost instantly but it takes a second or so before i can actually swipe it away to goto the home screen, makes sense? Is this a problem experienced by everyone?

Thanks.
