Help galaxy s2 probs

Hi all - new to this forum so pls be patient with me!!!!!!!
Does any clever person know the answer to these -
1) where can i get a list of that the icons at the top of the screen mean;
2) is your internet slow eg youtube vids take ages to load then only shows 5/6 secs and gives up

You can get a list of icons here (pages 21 & 22)

Are you on wifi or mobile? If you are on mobile connection check what type of network your are connected to, H is the fastest and should have no problems, 3g is also good, you might have problems on E or G they are the slowest, particularly G.

menu>settings>wireless and network>mobile networks>network mode> WCDMA is H & 3g, GSM is E and G
