galaxy s2 root+update

Hey guys ,
i`m new to these things so sorry if i say something stupid !
i have a galaxy s2 running on ics 4.0.4 that i installed a couple of months ago ,the phone is locked on orange romania . i want to update my phone to JB wich is not available for my country and service provider ,so i read on the forums that my phone needs to be rooted in order to install another software from another service provider or clean version of JB, checked that with rootchecker and it said that the phone is not rooted ... so i need some help with the rooting and upgrading the phone

So, it looks like you are on Orange, Romania, ICS, firmware.

As you correctly state, there is no JB update for you yet.

You can, however, flash any stock, Samsung, firmware for your model of phone by following the instructions in #1.7, here. This does not require you to be rooted.

If you do wish to root your phone and flash custom ROM's, just follow the instructions in posts #1 and #2, here.
