Help Galaxy S2 Will Not do Anything

Hello All! First time to this forum and I would be very happy if someone could crack our case! I have searched the forums and haven't found anyone with quite the same problem as ours.

My wife has a Galaxy S2. One day the phone worked fine without any issues and the very next day it was completely dead. Importantly it died while charging. We tried various methods to re-charge the battery (USB and wall- charger). Nothing. I tried using a new battery. Nothing. The reason for my desperation is my wife used the phone to take video and pictures while she was pregnant with our son. So there are some very sentimental moments captured on the phone. Without being able to turn the phone on we are unable to save these moments. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ahead of time for your help.

Hi Phil, welcome to AF! :)

I've moved your post to the SGS2 forum, the folks here will hopefully be able to help.

As far as I'm aware, the SGS2 also has an SD Card slot as well as internal memory, are the pics on the SD Card?

If she has a microSD card in it it would be worth removing and connecting to the PC with a microSD -> USB device and browsing for pictures. I think my old S2 asked be if I wanted to save to the SD when it detected it was inserted.

My daughter's GT-I9100 is also in non-responsive state. We have tried swapping the battery from my old one to her and still no response. I've not had time to open it looking for something simple yet.

I've tried everything and nothing has worked so far. So, I got my hands on a Riff Box, just need to get a 12pin Molex board to board connector for the jtag interface and the GT-I9100 resurrection DLL to see if I can fix the one I have. Maybe I'll do a direct solder, but I prefer the board to board interface so I can easily retry and play with it.
