Help galaxy s2 wont boot

avishai1b

Lurker
I have galaxy s2 GTI9100, I tried to update to 4.4.2:
I used the dummies guide and downloaded siyah 5.0.1 (I had 4.0.3)
I installed siyah using odin and it worked, formatted and deleted cache as the guide suggests, but when i chose the folder to install from zip (no files where found) it didnt do anything.

the phone wont boot now also when i select one of the sd card it tells: failed to mount /sdcard

but the other option (choose from directory) finally lead me to the folder i put the zips on but nothing happens.

how can i transfer files to the phone if it cant boot?
and what should i do from now to get 4.4.2?
(New to galaxy)
thanks!

There may just not be a 4.4.2 for the S2. (And may never be.) According to what I see, if you want a stock ROM, 4.1.2 is the latest one released. If you want to flash a custom ROM, try Cyanogen - they may have something later for the S2. (You can't flash just any 4.4.2 ROM, it has to be written for the specific model phone you're flashing it to, I9100 in your case.)

OK, so my phone will handle Cyanogen for sure?
and there is anyguide how to install it properly and when I do, which and how should i install the newest version for s2?

Personally, I would recommend the outstanding, "AOSP NeatROM for Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100", which perfectly emulates the Google Edition KitKat, Android 4.4.2, firmware on the Galaxy S4. IMHO, there is no better ROM for the Galaxy S2, GT-i9100, and the developer, salesale, is at the top of his game. Full installation instructions are in post #2 of the above link and salesale is a regular reader and contributor over on the All Things Root section of this forum...

Neat ROM
