Help Galaxy S3 Bluetooth issue

OK guys. First let me start with that how surprised I am that I don't see more people complaining about this since there is no way I'm the only person having this problem.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 I9000 and I love the phone but here is my problem. Every time I try to use the Bluetooth and wifi simultaneously, to watch YouTube videos for example, my phone keeps dropping the connection to my wifi network. Note that, while it keeps recognizing my wifi it just stops being conected to it. In other words: I could be watching a YouTube video or symply browsing the internet while listening to music through my stereo Bluetooth headset, and that is music that is on my phone not streaming, and after about a couple of minutes I'd get a message that reads, not connected to the wifi network. When this happens, I go in to my wifi setting and right there under my network it says, disabled. If I press on it it will connect again just to kick me out after another couple of minutes tops. WTF Samsung? ?? I know it must be some sort of interference between the wifi signal and the Bluetooth signal. I know it is not my internet connection because I never have this problem when not using bluetooth. I bought one of the best android phones because I. Wanted the best user experience, and always been wanting to have a nice stereo bluetooth headphones so I can listen to music and talk on Skype without being fiscally attached to my phone and now I can't. Not happy about that at all.
So, have anybody else encountered this problem and if yes, do you have a solution for it? ? I am running Jelly bean 4.1.2. and using Motorola S11-Flex HD as my bluetooth headphones. I have tried restarting my phone and changing the Bluetooth settings. My suspicion is that it is a firmwire problem in which case I'll have no choice but to wait for the update to come out, but if it is not and you know a solution pease help.
Thanks!

I have seen a similar problem on my Galaxy S3 (model SCH-I535 running 4.1.2). If Bluetooth and WiFi are both on and left on, they seem to generally play well together. While I haven't figured this out in detail yet, it seems that some sequences of turning BT on/off (sometimes, but not always, turning the headset itself on/off) cause the WiFi to lose connection. It will say "Not in range", even if I'm standing 5' away. At this point, simply turning BT off immediately causes the WiFi to "see" that the connection is "back in range" and it works fine. Then I can turn on BT and that will reconnect to the headset (Jawbone ERA) and everything works again.

The only other technique I've successfully reconnected the WiFi with is by doing a restart of the phone.

The whole thing is both disappointing and annoying as I don't always notice that the phone has dropped WiFi and so I'm using my data allowance unnecessarily. Also, the "Not in range" indication seems to apply to all the WiFi connections present from in the Scan Results data when the problem is present. When WiFi is operating normally only some of the available connections are shown as "Not in range" while many more show as "Secured" or "Open" or "Secured (WPS Available)". Looks to me like a bug in the phone's handling of the two radio interfaces.

I also have this issue with my GS3 and can confirm it's a Samsung problem.

You can enable both WiFi and Bluetooth at the same time. However when you do WiFi will not work. I don't think Samsung understands radios very well. I've seen this done with many other phones without problem. I sent their tech support an email about this today and hopefully there is something that can be done. I also asked if this is an issue on the Galaxy S4, if it is I may consider the HTC One after all.

Yea except that my phone never stops being able to see the wifi networks it'll simply loose connection and say disabled under my wifi network.
Thanks for your post though.

Hi, i have the same issue on my Korean SHV-210S galaxy S3 running Ochie ROM on 4.2.1.

  • BT turns on and off at random times, in use or not. sometimes every 5min.
  • wifi turns itself off constantly and often doesnt seem to stay on when on standby
  • BT goes on by itself after beeing off for a while

Did you have to replace the BT/wifi chip ? or was it a software issue?

Did you manage to fix the BT/Wifi issue?

I'm running ochie 2.0 (2.1.0)

I had the impression it wasn't like that before, i've been using bt/wifi combination for months before i had any problems with it.

I'm not looking forward to have the chip replaced, any other options?

I also have been using bt/wifi combination for months and have never had any problems with it.

It runs on two cars , three BT headphones and my PC.

Hi, Problems with BT on my S3:
While using BT in a car , every time the screen deemed during phone conversation I start hearing echo sound and stop hearing the other side of the conversation.
If I click the headset icon to stop the process and click it again I gain few more minutes before getting to the same problem again. It is not a problem with my car's hands free BT system since I see it with every car I drive with.

Can someone pls help with this issue?

unfortunately , i have the same scenario as u descriped ,
Can any one help ? plz.

I am not that technical but I am think it has something to do with the Auto Network Switch. I have turned it off and I will report back shortly if it solved the BT connection drop issue. I have to believe it is related to the update. I just updated the software today.

The issue has been solved by reset factory setting . !!
and now the bluetooth connectivity is stable with my car device & another bluetooth headset.
