Help Galaxy S3 Charging issues

My phone has been having some battery drain issues the past 3 weeks and with the last two my S3 has been having trouble with either taking a long time to charge, the red light and battery says it is charging but it in fact is not and also when plugged in making the noise it makes when you plug it in over and over not stopping. I have used different USB cables and bought a new battery but the problem still persists. Any suggestions?

welcome to AF!!!!!!

i moved you to the s3 forum for better views.

a new battery and still the same issue? are the cables new as well? are they specific to the s3? or are they the generic kind?

Thank you for moving it my apologies. Yes bought a new battery because I thought that would also solve the apparent battery drain issue I was having along with the charging but the same thing happened. The new cable I bought was a generic one that is compatible with a lot of different devices. Strange thing is I was at my friends house using a charger not sure what kind and it seemed to charge normal speed

i always try and get an oem cable if and when possible from my carrier. some of the generic ones, even though they say its compatible, have burned me in the past.....just my experience. you should find out what charger your friend has.

as for your battery drain, was this all of a sudden? how is your 3g and 4g signal? do you use any task killers?

Thank you guys I will try out your solutions and I do use a task killer and I have a battery analyzer app and the signal varies from place to place but usually pretty good at home it seems to be getting better about draining the battery though

I've been all the way 'round the mulberry bush on this issue. Short version: when replacing batteries, replacing cords and replacing chargers doesn't change anything, there's only one solution. Right?

AT&T (finally) replaced my phone, and it's just fine with the batteries, cords and chargers I'd been using all along.

As usual, YMMV.

Yea thanks guys went to the T-mobile store and he did another reset to my phone and replaced the battery yet again. When I got home had the same problems as before so I will have to try and get it replaced
