Galaxy S3 news and more !!

So this may be a stupid question, but if I buy an S3 from Metro would I be able to take it to Verizon or Sprint and have full use of it there?

I'd much rather stay with Metro, but I may have to be moving around the country soon and mostly to areas Metro just doesn't cover.

Yeah just you won't be "fully" using it. You can only talk and text with it.

so i come home today and find my cases and back covers and accessories i ordered. some of them at least. my eyes tear at the thought that i wont be able to get my phone this week.... WHYYY

Right..... i already got my case a no phone Yet lol :(

I still don't get all the worry people are having over whether or not to go s3.. 2 YEARS. 2 years to keep the fam on here together with additional benefits possibly before the bigger changes hit. If this ship IS sinking for metro..its doing it on the edge of a beach. Don't sweat it..when its time, just jump off and swim to another provider lol. I know damn well this thing will last me that long anyway..

Exactly.. I'm not worried. I'm still gonna be getting this when it comes out.

Btw..something I noticed yesterday at the store by me which has me a little excited. Where the demos are with all of the 4g phones, all were there except the esteem demo. ...they still have them for sale. Maybe getting ready to pop something else in that spot soon???? ;)

you saw that and didn't ask ? :(:(:(

TOLD YOU ALL what they telling us on the east coast that this phone will not be out til black Friday. But now that T-Mobile is buying out metro its hard to say.. when we will see the s 3 and what happened to the metro customers that hold phones like the esteem and other models doesn't t-mobile have gms nothing alike cdma... we are no sim cards

You have a good point on that mike but with the two combination what would happen. Also keep in mind if data is running we can make calls over data bigger that volte so I love to see what will happen. I think that the s 3 can and will have a few extra bonuses when it do hit our metro stores

I've decided to go ahead and leave metro, buy an s3 out right and activate on t mobiles byod $60 plan.

Why am i doing this?

I get an s3 now. I get an s3 that i won't have to get rid of after the companies fully integrate. And if you plan on staying with metro, you will be moved to t mobile eventually. So I'm just moving now instead of later, saving a lot of money and i end up having a phone that will have value and still be operable that i will get for far less than metros price.

Versus buying metros s3 if it every comes out only to sell it because it will become inoperable in due time after the company fully merges from which i would buy a tmob phone at that point anyway.

After thinking about this, it's blatantly obvious the right move to make.

PLUS, you can buy an unlocked s3 brand new on Ebay for 400. It's a win win win all around to just jump ship now and make the move. It's the same thing as waiting on metro but you'll lose money by buying their phone vs straight out elsewhere and losing money when you are stuck with an inoperable phone that you can't sell.

I'm just stating my decision. This isn't a debate or an argument waiting to start so don't even go there. I plan on buying my s3 today and using up my last month of metro because I've already paid and then signing up on tmob byod $60 plan at the first of the month.

It's been real. It's been fun. It's been real fun. :D

Lucky for you that you probably have good tmobile coverage where you live... I don't.. so I have to get the metro version as their coverage here is better than tmobiles... or else I would of done the same thing u did

but how funny would it be if you went out to buy the s3 today only to have the metro s3 come out tomorrow... that would be lulz

The metro s3 could come out right now and i would still not buy it. Read my post again. Assuming the metro s3 is 499, i save 100 right off the bat. Second, Im buying an unlocked s3 versus metros s3 that will be useless when the companies have fully integrated. Yes, that's a while from now but selling that metro s3 to people that know it will be no good isn't going to be easy. At some point if you stay with metro YOU WILL HAVE TO BUY A T MOBILE PHONE.

I'm just moving now instead of later and buying the s3 for cheaper now instead of waiting on metro. I'm moving to the other side of the same company that isn't going to be phased out. That's all. :D

Well its a green light the news is on and I get the stupid text saying this Huge 4G LTE Phone Sale! Get a MetroPCS 4G LTE Android phone for as low as only $79 after rebate, plus tax. Hurry, supplies are limited. See store for details.
From metro and stocks are falling and combing

And if you stay you have til 2015 to get a T-Mobile handset if not u will be on that new plan called your own.. yes you have the phone and bars but when u make a call it will sound so crisp and clear............:banghead::what:

I was considering to switch to Tmobile but really? We can use Metro phones until the end of 2015 we can save money for three years plus I'm going to buy the S3 which I was concern about, but really raise your hand if anyone here use the same phone for 3 years! Go ahead and buy the Galaxy s3 and enjoy it until last :)

Well said. I have great service and i'm paying half or less than half of what people pay now and with the s3, it's gonna be a long 3 years lol

Unless your're happy with T -Mobile EDGE speeds I wouldn't get the unlocked version and just pony up the extra bucks for the T -Mobile branded GS3.
