Galaxy S3 post 4.3 update no apps work

Galaxy S3

I upgraded my S3 to the new Android 4.3, but now almost none of my apps will work. Yahoo mail for instance wouldn't work, when I say not work I mean open the app and it instantly ends with "Unfortunately, Yahoo Mail has stopped" with the options to "Report and OK". Most all of my apps are doing the same thing like Angry Birds, Chrome, etc. Anyone had that issue? I can I redo the update?

Hi Rukbat, no I downloaded it via the normal verizon push method (I just did it over Wi-Fi). It has really screwed up my phone.

- Battery sucks even though I have an extended battery
- Many, many apps don't work (every game on my phone is broken).. I've had to reinstall the ones I have to have and they then seem to work
- The camera flash will just randomly blink
- It was very sluggish but that is getting better..
- Somethings like kindle reader will work for a while and then end in the same manner with the same message of the app "has stopped".

Can I reinstall it? I really didn't want to reset my phone..

Hey rojo_77, welcome to our AdnroidForums!

Unfortunately, it does sound like a factory reset is the most likely option to fix your issues :(.

Many users do not have issues like you are reporting after an OTA, but we always hear of some that do (the main and obvious difference being the type and variety of apps you have installed vs. others).

Resetting causes Android to start from scratch and eliminates the variables that your old settings (and their possible incompatibility with the new OTA's version of the Android)--it's the same reason why when you reinstall an app, it fixes things for that particular app.

Best of luck!

It is interesting, while the battery is still draining way to fast, the apps work if I go in the app manager and move them from the phone memory to my SD card. The camera light blinking was because the update turned on camera light notifications.. so still have issues, thought these are more manageable. My opinion though as an IT guy is that is should have been tested far more thoroughly. Thanks for the help everyone.
