Galaxy S3 sluggish

Hi everyone I know there has been a lot of discussion about the home screen redraw issues with widgets taking a few seconds to Load and all that but I find it ridiculous. Every solution I've heard does not fix the problem and it only gets worse. Disabling the S voice double tap feature does get to the home faster but doesn't fix the redraw. Changing animation and Window settings to. 5x doesn't help. Using the back button instead of the home button and so on. This phone has plenty of RAM,and horsepower for a processor, and so why is it not smooth as butter. I paid full retail for the phone because I didn't have an upgrade. I shouldn't have to limit my widgets or reduce my home screens or clear the task killer because it should just not lag period for this premium device. I don't get why I phones just simply don't experience the lag android does, just as an experience of owning both. Will a software update fix the issue? Maybe android 4.1 project butter? Thanks for any tips or advice...

Touchwiz uses a lot of the available RAM. Personally I only get the redraw on rare occasions, not enough to bother me.

I guess it depends on the way you use the phone. Maybe a different launcher will help? Apex launcher is very good.

I use the phone a lot but I just feel I shouldn't have to close applications and RAM all the time to reduce a lag. It happens about 75 percent of the time when I exit an app.

my biggest suggestion would be to try a 3rd party launcher like Nova or Apex...i had the occassional redraw on TouchWiz...but ive NEVER had the problem running Nova...

you are right and it shouldn't be an issue at all...the reason you don't see this issue with iPhones is the same reason a Mac running OSX can seemingly run smoother than a more powerful Windows box...

its because Apple controls everything that goes into their products..every piece of the puzzle is designed and manufactured to work specifically with the rest of the pieces...

with Android you dont have that...you have dozens of manufacturers, using countless hardware combinations, making endless modifications to the Android Source code...that is where inconsistency comes from..

Edit: I realize that swapping launchers is not necessarily the answer you're looking for because TouchWiz SHOULD (and does on my phone) work properly...

im usually very against what i call the "band-aid" solutions to problems...many times people will just say "you can fix that if you root and freeze things, or run a custom rom." and while yes that works, the phone should also work as intended in its factory state...

but in this case i REALLY suggest a 3rd party launcher...it may change your entire outlook on Android...

for basic options...

ICS based launchers
- Nova (my current choice)
- Apex

Older launchers
- LPP (my all time fav, but the dev has basically abandoned the project)
- ADW EX
- Go Launcher

International version had an update recently which improved this allot, not completely fixed but happens allot less.
