Help Galaxy s3 stuck

Hi, I downloaded the latest update for my galaxy s3 yesterday and ever since my phone won't start, it stays stuck on the Samsung screen glowing blue in the background and when i turn it off it turns itself back on, all I can do is take the battery out. I had it set previously using next launcher, I don't know if that could be the problem. Any help would be appreciated, I really cannot afford to lose the messages and other data saved on this phone I'll do anything to avoid it

First try getting into recovery mode.
As soon as you put the battery in, hold in the buttons POWER, HOME and volume UP.
Let us know if it takes you to a menu.
In that menu use volume buttons to scroll down to "clear cache partition" and select it using the big home button at the bottom.
Then scroll back up to "reboot' and select it with home button.

PS did the problem start straight after installing next launcher?

Well I've been using next launcher for a while, but the problem happened right after the latest update. I can go into both recovery mode and download mode, I've tried clearing the cache, but when I click on reboot in recovery mode it immediately says error. One more thing I should note, after leaving it off for the night, when I tried turning it on again today and it was stuck on the samsung screen I could feel the vibrations of new messages registering so it is clearly running in the background

did you verify the MD5 of the rom before flashing? well, if you're not stock that is.

You may want to do a Factory Reset from Recovery and see if that helps.
