Great summary list indeed. Thanks for putting this together.
I was a little bummed by 1Gb RAM, but otherwise it seems more like major upgrade than I thought. Especially better camera and enhanced mic/audio are nice because those are important for my wife's phone. She will like smart stay feature too.

What is the difference between those two smartphone? I live in Europe, which is important to say since USA and Europe are different.

What new things does Samsung galaxy S3 have that Samsung galaxy S2 doesn't have?

What can't the samsung galaxy S2 do that the Samsung galaxy S3 can do?

I am thinking of buying one of those two but I am not sure which one to get. I can get the samsung galaxy S2 cheaper, but is it worth getting Samsung galaxy S3?

I don't know a lot about samsung galaxy S3.

I moved your post into this thread as it directly applies here, in case anyone wonders why you would ask these questions inside the post you were ultimately linked to.

Didn't samsung galaxy S2 have a HD screen or is the HD screen added new to samsung galaxy S3?

There was an lte s2 hd that was released in Korea and was set to be released as the skyrocket hd in the USA, but appears to have been canceled. Otherwise, the s2 didn't have hd screens.

They weren't terrible, but they weren't HD either (on the S2).

S3 is a major step on from the S2, but the S2 is still a very nice piece of kit and has aged well in the current market.

I'm liking the phone.

Should be much more productive on the S3 with the bigger screen and faster CPU.

I might have to upgrade early...

:)

Plus with the backing support on XDA it's a killer phone, no quams here about keeping my GSII for another year, still smooth and fast. The new look of the GSIII is kinda mehhh to me but tons of killer features, think I'm more inclined to wait to see what the next Nexus will be like this winter. Be interesting to see what the US versions look like for the Galaxy, since we get capacitive buttons, and some speculation about different looks for U.S. variants.

One thing I love about the i777 GSII is the size, it's perfect, not big and not small.

GSIII may not seem like big upgrade over GSII in first look. But the list of features above amounts to quite substantial upgrade. I like the improved mic/audio, camera, micro sd file format.

And no one knows the real clock speed of quad Exynos in GSIII yet as they didn't confirm it in London. Everyone is just assuming 1.4Ghz from their previous statement on quad Exynos 4. But it stated that will be the minimum speed. So I guess it might be 1.5Ghz like in Samobile leak just a week prior to London event.

Samsung Exynos

I'm just wondering when Samsung will make a phone that does the basics. Like gps, call and data signal, overheating etc. Always seems to be lacking in a major area in a very annoying way.

Samsung has had reception issues with only CDMA phones (like Charge, GSII Epic touch, CDMA/LTE Gnex) that use their proprietary non-qualcomm radio chips. But their other phones using Qualcomm radios and most of their GSM phones are just fine on signal reception.

Even those CDMA phones with their own radios affected only some small number of users and most of others are still fine with it. In my experience, I didn't have any severe voice/text/data issues with Samsung phones and they seem to be on par with HTC, LG or even better sometimes. So if US versions of GSIII come with S4 krait, I don't think there is too much concern on it.

I think one of the best new features is the LED message indicator. My company makes me put a pin lock screen on before I can access work email and having to type my pin in everytime I wanted to check and see if I had a new email or missed call was crazy!
